I forgot to watch this. Does anyone know if they will be replaying it sometime soon.
I enjoyed the pilot and I am definitely hooked for now. I did not expect the dome to make an appearance during the opening minutes but I guess they wanted to get the attention of the audience pretty quickly; especially for those who end up changing channels if it isn't exciting right from the get go.
Stephen King in the original first look video (linked in the opening post) stated that it's a 13 week event, which means it's a mini series with only one season. And though I haven't read the novel, it does seem the pacing has been sped up to make room for all major characters to be established in the pilot.

UNDER THE DOME Debuts to Impressive 13.1 Million Viewers for Most Watched Summer Debut Since 2007 | Collider
There is a definite ending to the book, but I have read from many sources that the planned TV ending is totally different. We'll see.
Many didn't like the book ending but I liked it just fine.
Didn't see the first episode last night but will once it is available on Amazon Prime in another 4 days or so.
Just watched it and thought it was damn good. Lots of storylines going on here. Nice summer fill in show.
And as mentioned above, a big hit with a 3.2 rating with viewers between the ages of 18 and 49 (13.1 million audience).

It having the time slot that Hawaii-Five O usually holds probably helped.
Please tell me there's some kind of ending to this and not that we're not just left with a bunch of unanswered questions.
Or that the whole thing is what happens with people in the dome till the dome just suddenly disappears and they're lives are changed forever.....that kind of crap.
But it was also going up against Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Finals on NBC. Pretty impressive, for one night anyway. And I'm sure some hockey fans dvr'd it like me.
EDIT: Game 6 drew 8.16 million viewers for a 5.6 rating.

Not really that impressive since so few watch hockey......8.16 million viewers is bad.

They should've had a cook out right away.
I liked the first episode, but I'm worried about what it's going to become.

I just hope this isn't another show where it just leaves you hanging and you have to imagine what happened. Nothing is really explained. I hate that stuff. It's lazy writing and King has done it too.
Don't remind me.
