I watched the first episode without knowing it was King, so maybe that's an advantage.

I just think it's good on its own merits.

I still have to watch last nights episode. I may be able to get to it tomorrow. I'm a bit behind on tv watching right now.

I think it's just alright so far. It definitely feels like by the numbers Stephen King, so I expect to be disappointed by the ending.

That's what I'm worried about. I bet this is more about the lives of the people inside the dome rather than where the dome came from or why it's there.

^^^ Much like Twin Peaks. A soap opera with weirdness thrown in. A small town with a dark underbelly.

I started watching this solely based upon hearing about it on this board. So far, it's okay, nothing special really, my main reason for tuning back in is to discover why this is happening, as I am sure is the reason for most people.

Had I not known this was Stephen King, I would have figured it out pretty quickly, as most of his characters behave and speak in the same way throughout his stories.

I dont know why so many love King and his writing, I will admit that he is able to write in a way that keeps your curiosity piqued, but (to me) his characters have been pretty flat and the dialogue is usually pretty stiff or cheesy. I think that may be why I stopped reading his books in my early twenties.

I'm not bashing anybody who likes his work, he certainly has a few gems out there, and in some cases has provided the rough material for some great movies, like The Shining and The Dead Zone.

I won't spoil it for anyone but in the book you DO find out where the dome came from and why it's there.

Yes, the bulk of the story deals with how the people trapped inside basically get on some Lord of the Flies ish but ultimately the ending is about answering the obvious questions.

I haven't watched the show and have no desire to though. It really is a lame *** story (like the majority of Stephen Kings stuff). I mean he has some heaters, don't get me wrong but he also has some really crappy stuff. And for some reason people love to adapt those into a movie/TV series. Probably because the license is so cheap. :lol

Why not take a lesson from Rover and dig under it? Maybe they should have called it the sphere instead. Then I could believe that no one could get out.

Some reason, the way the daughter says, 'moms' to the gay couple without ever making eye contact with either woman bugs the heck out of me....

I kind of assume that it will in fact be revealed to be a sphere.

Exactly. Just treating her parents like any bratty teenager would.

Yeah, way too much makeup on the actress......and just not liking her character thus far, but to be fair, she's had, what? 10 minutes of total screen time?

No offense but I' sleep with her brat or not. :lecture just saying

Think I am gonna read the book before watching any more episodes....show is decent, but I can only imagine there is a lot more going on with the novel, with it being 1000 pages and all.
What is with King and this huge books of his...?

She's a bratty teenager with a huge forehead.
