For those who think the movie Salo is hype, I would agree but I would seriously consider reading the unfinished book. It is pretty ____ed up although some parts get boring and tedious but Marquis de Sade was one messed up man.

In regards to Salo, I just want to say that Criterion also made a big deal about I Am Curious Blue and Yellow, saying it was banned and confiscated etc. This film(s) is one of the most boring films I have ever seen. I have no idea what made it so shocking.

Yea I am skeptical as well, seeing as I haven't seen them yet but they are on my netflix. Isn't it because she is under age or close to it and very sexual in nature?

She is 20. And the film, though it has sexual elements, is not graphic whatsoever. Most of the film is of the main character going around the streets of Sweden asking people about their views on life, mainly politics and civil rights. It is really boring, but for what it is kind of fascinating.

"The film includes numerous and frank scenes of nudity and staged sexual intercourse. In one particularly controversial scene, Lena kissed her lover's flaccid _____. In 1969, the film was banned in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for being pornographic. However, after proceedings in the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts (Karalexis v. Byrne, 306 F. Supp. 1363 (D. Mass. 1969)), the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States (Byrne v. Karalexis, 396 U.S. 976 (1969) and 401 U.S. 216 (1971)), the Second Circuit found the movie not to be obscene.[3]"

Pretty lame reason to be banned.

Yeah its one of those, whats obscene to some isnt to others type thing. The old argument of what should be censored and what shouldnt is all from your perspective on how you see it.

Anyone remember a film from the 80's where the killer pretty much wore like a welders mask and carried a flame thrower. Ive been trying to figure out what movie that is for the longest. I remember seeing it when I was a kid and really want to see it again. Im sure it might be a pile of garbage, but I need to see it again to pass that judgement or not :D

As if members of the Commonwealth back then hadn't ever had their peepees kissed by young girls. :monkey1

Yeah and that scene, as well as the few other sexual scenes are short and have little to do with the film as a whole. Less than 1% of the film deals with sexuality, which makes it pretty lame that they ban it for that reason. There is more to the film than that.

or young boys...

ha ha ha, yeah Tom Atkins is the man...wow what a pure 80's ride of cheese. I mean from zombies, exploding heads, parasitic little alien leeches, aliens, claymation, small scale models and yes Tom Atkins...a hilarious fun film. I love the axe zombie, totally hilarious. I'll probably pick this up used or in the bargain bin when I can find it.
