On the subject of American remakes, I liked the Spanish version of [REC] a lot more than the American remake, Quarantine.

:dunnothe american version got more positve reviews than negative

The original swedish version has a hell of a lot more atmosphere and texture to it. I thought the US version was competent but dull and predictable. Neither version are as good as the book, which is pretty unfilmable, its so ____ing gross.

And yeah the original version of REC is great fun, especially the ending. That thing freaked me out.

Watched "Session 9" again at the weekend, it's pretty great in places.

Which era? Just re-watched Maniac over Thanksgiving (that movie never gets old) and have Martin and Henry coming from NetFlix. I've found that nowadays, rediscovering the classics is safer than trying to venture out into a sea full of garbage. :(

Hardly underrated, but I need to watch Devil The Rite and delete them from my DVR.

Thanks NAM, going to watch Martin and Henry tonight! I too have same thought about the classics. Maniac was a great one too, loved the shotgun scene!:hi5:

Yup, "Disco Boy" scene was great. Like I said before, Maniac and The Prowler is probably the best work Tom Savini has ever done. I can't believe they are actually doing a remake of Maniac. Poor decision IMHO. And Elijah Woods as Frank Zito? Joe Spinell will not be topped:lecture.

A remake? I wish they would leave things alone. Going to go look for The Prowler now at Best Buy.

Same here. These movies were perfect as they are. I see no need for improvement what so ever. Most likely they will water down the kills and over use CGI. For me CGI is a down grade from practical effects when it comes to gore and blood.

Might not have much luck on finding the prowler in a Best Buy store. But definitely get it on their website. Both movies are on Blu Ray which I recommend over the dvd. The dvd's are a bit to dark.

Also a guilty pleasure I've been watching lately is The Toolbox Murders. Not the Tobe Hoper version, the original version. The bathroom scene always give me a good chuckle.

So they're making Frank Zito a ____ now?

Looks that way. Supposedly it might even be mostly a POV movie, at least what I read over at horrorbid. Hope the production falls through and gets cancelled.

Yeah Im actually looking forward to seeing pt 2. I thought part 1 was actually decent. Way over hyped but good enough that I was entertained.

Not shure if this is considered Underrated but its certainly not talked about enough IMO

Finally got around to watching the Night of the Demons remake. I'm not sure if it's because it was late at night and with many interruptions (from my kids), or I just jonesing for a decent horror movie, but I actually not only liked the remake but actually really liked Edward Furlong's character. :lol :monkey1
