The Dark Knight Rises is definitely better than Batman Begins. Bane is a better villain than Darth Vader.
The Godfather II is not better than the Original....

This thread has officially gone looney.....
I think Bane is a less interesting Ra's Al Ghul in the Nolanverse.
How is Vader overrated? Honest question, I know everything is overrated on the internet, but why Vader?
I don't think he's a great villain. A great character with a nice arc, but as a villain, he's a glorified henchman who by the third film is less than a villain and more of broken man fighting his feelings and finding redemption.

The prequels don't help either. Good character, but even as a little kid, I didn't find him intimidating or threatening...the dude seemed vulnerable and weak. Hannibal or Anton from No Country for Old Men are true scary villains who would give Vader nightmares, imo.
I thought Bane was easily the second best villain in TDK trilogy, but I think Batman Begins is the better film.
In all honesty, the Nolanverse might have the greatest set of villains in movie history, Scarecrow, Ra's, Two Face, Joker, Bane, and I'd even add Catwoman on there even though she redeems herself at the end. The only terrible villain was Talia, and thankfully she was only on screen for about 10 minutes.

It's all that desert heat...it's making you see things.
The new DC cinematic universe has the potential to have the best villains in any franchise as well as the best collection of villains ever, if the films are good and the actors do a good job of course. Marvel should be doing a lot better with the villains, but for some reason they can't figure it out.

Bane is just a henchman as well.
