I thought I was going to absolutely hate Salt so very low expectations yet I walked away pleasantly surprised.

Never watched AB.

If they get a younger, sexier male Bond then I guarantee you that women won't want you to change him to a woman. When the movies started, Bond was as much eye-candy to women as the women he beds were to men. That's supposed to be part of the appeal.

I find the heading in articles like this to be just even dumber then those who don't want the 007 number to be taken by a female.

I think the Bond Purist are worried about where the franchise may go. Will Bond still be Male and the same man we know and love or will it go the way of the Ghostbusters reboot and blame men for its failures

Anyways the heading "A Black Woman is taking over as James Bond, Its about Damn Time" is dumb for a couple of reasons..

1. Its meant to insight and sound "woke" as even the article states she is taking the number and that Bond is still Bond

2. Why is it about Damn time? Who, other then a few "woke minded fools" are asking for a

Like I said in a previous post.. Nobody wants a female Bond. If they did where were they for Atomic Blonde? That was a pretty damn good spy / action fil were the female was very Bond like using her intelligence, fighting skills, and her sex to help her win the day.

Idiots want to get some thrill out of taking over a character that has been historically male. I mean really... Who is asking for a female Bond? I have seen some "journalist" ask for it and an actor or two ask for it.. But "It comes from Hollywood" sums up that point of view.

Really do any of you talk film around the water cooler at work and hear anyone say.. "Its time for a female Bond" ?




Anyways.. I have no issue with someone taking over the 007 License to Kill and as long as the actress is up to the challenge and written well then I have no issue that it is a woman. However if its just a publicity stunt then it will blow up in their face.. But they will blame it on sexism anyways so they are in the clear

I loved the brutal Action in Atomic Blonde and I am a pretty big can of the actress.

I will have to give Salt a spin. I have almost done it on several occasions.

My point is.. Bond is Male.. Come up with a great female action character that you can make a series about.. And if you cant or people wont go see it then it must mean there is not much of a desire for it.

Well if they’re going to do it they’re going to do it with existing big brands like your Bond.

It’s news because it’s Bond.

They want it to make noise for marketing reasons.

Atomic Blonde is not a brand never was and never will be no one will care if a man takes on the role of Atomic Blonde lol

Bond is the perfect brand to mess with to get people talking.

Nope they do not make a big deal over this stuff they just want to party and have fun.

Never watched AB.

AB was decent with one truly awesome "single take" fight sequence on multiple levels of a building where she gets bloodier and bloodier throughout. I'm sure they cleverly hid scene breaks and did a combination of inserting CG blood and partial takes where they'd applied BD makeup but the end result was seamless and absolutely amazing to behold.

Hell I would say those clamoring for a Female Bond were never Bond fans in the first place.. So why not just go see a new character in a new movie.

I am sure I overrate the film a tad. When I first saw it I remember I was not sure if I was enjoying it or not for the first 30 min but then some of the action kicked in and then there was the single take shot you are talking about.. I also did not see the twist coming

She was an American spy the whole time working with Goodman

Also I just love Charlize Theron, always have since The Devil's Advocate. I especially love her in this film... The director and stunt coordinators said she was very dedicated to the role and that her ability to di the stunts changes how they filmed some of the action scenes as they were able to do much longer takes instead of the typic "three moves and cut" like Matt Damon Bourne films.

There are behind the scenes of her doing the work with the stunt people and its pretty impressive for a non martial artist.

See what I say above.. I am sure I am overrating the film as a whole but man that single take scene is awesome.. I still like the film as a whole and have enjoyed it fully each of the three times I watched it.

I cant remember what it was about the John Wick Movies you did not like.. This might not be your cup of tea.. Its a bit more brutal then JW as she is not quit as Super Human but it has some similarities in how the action was done.. I believe the director was a stunt coordinator on the first JW film.

I don't.. I was referring to the dumb title of the article and how it is a small window into the small mind of the woke writer
