As mentioned before, they will sell quite a bit of them and can spread out the costs that way.

It would also be a great marketing move to offer this guy at the supposed "regular" price so that IF there are any discrepancies in the details, the gripes will be subdued, compared to the torches & pitchforks being gathered together if he were to have cost double.

I can't see Vader being more than Obi-Wan Clone unless they just want to gouge us. Snake-eyes is my mind is SST attempt to put out a Hot Toys type figure loaded with accessories. Which I can understand the price given the amount of equipment he comes with. Vader really doesn't come with enough to justify that price.
