Just seen this thread and am just in time

Sad that your suit rotted/melted but every clould.
Would you have bothered making a suit if it did'nt happen?
What a great sculpt of kane and a painstaking recreation of the suit but hats off looks great.
Just hope mine don't rot.
Can't wait to see the painted sculpt that is spot on to me

Thanks again for all the compliments guys. I'm pretty happy with the Hurt/Kane HS. Throughout the movie - Kane looked a combination of worried, amazed, and ill. I wanted to capture that in the hs. lol

Wow! I get the WHOLE internets?!

Thanks for the good words guys. Just spend the last 2 hours making tiny teeny itty bitty 1/6 scale studs for the cowl. I don't like those metal studs I used along the sides. Too large.

I'll probably end up making the HS, gloves, and shoes available this summer. Only a handful since I don't really have nearly as much free time as I used to.

And maybe even a smaller number of fabric suits available. We're talking maybe 10 at the most.

But can't promise anything since again - it all depends on whether I have time to make molds, etc.

I really wanted Kane to have something to hold. In the movie - Dallas is seen holding the folded up tripod/stretcher. And HT did provide Kane with a flashlight, but unfortunately - the design is based on a production drawing of a flashlight and not the actual one seen in the movie. The one Kane uses in the movie is more like a lantern in design then a flashlight.

Also unfortunate - the flashlight can barely be seen in the movie. I was able to see enough of its shape in the scene in which Kane stumbles and falls down into the pit of eggs. So I modified the HT flashlight based on the basic shape.

The three main features I wanted to capture:
- the thin flat arching handle
- the thin boxy shutter like edge around the bulb in the front
- The power cord extending from the rear

The cord attached will eventually extend back and attach to the backpack.

The suits will be even better than the one you see here since I've refined the pattern since. Also - I have to make the suits so that you guys can install without too much hassle. I'll even try to make them removable - which is a challenge because there's so many pieces. The actual movie suits were a pain to put on and take off I'd imagine.

So is the Kane sculpt your work, or did you commission it?
