Thanks guys! Had very little time to work on the head this weekend. Should have it done end of this week. I DID have time to treat the visor so that it looks steamed up from Kane's breathing.

This is the fogged up visor. I used white water color heavily diluted with rubbing alcohol. I applied a couple coats letting them dry completely in between coats. The end result is pretty opaque. Then I used a Q-tip to rub away the paint from the center - applying less pressure going out towards the edges. Leave the paint around the edges untouched. Apply this process on both the inside and outside surface of the visor and the end result looks just like condensation.

Then apply a coat of dull-coat to protect the results. I like using water color for this because it drys somewhat powdery which looks a lot more like moisture condensation than if I used other paints. You can also use an airbrush, but imo that looks too uniform. I like it looking like Kane tried to wipe the visor with his hands and smeared the moisture around.

The paint catches the overhead lights really nicely:

Just as an FYI for those of you who are thinking about using the "Flesh" colored version of Magic Sculpt. Don't use it.

The pre-cure handling characteristics - as well as the post-cure characteristics (carving, scraping, etc.) are completely different from the regular gray or white versions.

I'm not sure why - but I think the pigment they add to get the flesh tone is the culprit. It cures with a shiney waxey coat that then makes it difficult to layer on additional clay on top. Which if you sculpt - you'll know that makes the process exponentially harder.

I'll never use it again. Stick to the gray compound.

Thanks guys! Hang in there. I haven't had much time to finish the head. And I had to back-track a little bit because of the magic sculpt issue.

AND I'm jumping to a new work beginning Monday to add to the hectic schedule.

I'll spend some time on it next weekend. Don't want to rush it.

Seriously though - I started a new job about a month ago and it's been hectic as heck from day one. So I have had to put Kane on the back burner.

Every weekend since I started the new gig - I look at the Kane suit on my workbench and have to force myself to not work on him since I've got a lot of training left for work.

I will finish him up soon fellas. Promise.
