The suit is 99% done. All that's missing is the lettering on the chest plate (and then weathering of it) and the patch on rear pocket. I'll probably get those done next week.

The new HS is curing as we speak. I should have it painted tonight and that should be the final head.

Here's the final suit - with the new spotlight. I like new profile of the helmet with the new spotlight a lot.

Definitely see more Hurt now. The eyes are working. Maybe the nose needs to be narrowed just a tad. But the eyes pretty much sell it now.

I gridded out Hurt's face before I started. His nose is pretty tricky. From the sides - you would expect it to be narrow, but from the front - it's actually pretty wide. This is the pic used for the gridding.

I think the only change I'd make now before I call it final is to round off the eyelids a bit more.

Okay. I think this is the final head. I'll probably make some more refinements to it before I make the cast, but I'm happy with it for now.

I rounded out the eye lids a bit. The previous version was too exaggerated. Gave him too much of a Fu Manchu look. This version makes Kane look more human. I also added freckles and some texturing.

The new head looks nearly perfect, tin! Sign me up.
You really could work for Hot Toys doing better sculpts for them, but you'd probably have to move to Hong Kong...

For a long time, I've been thinking about sculpting a new 1:6 version of the alien egg.
We all know the eggs that came with the HT Dallas & Kane were not accurate to the first film at all- they were more like those seen in Alien Resurrection.
You have inspired me. If I can, I'll do several different versions:

1) Opaque/dormant (closed),
2) Translucent sides w/vague facehugger embryo visible through the shell (closed)
3) Open-top with that juicy 'I'm about to suck your face' detail at the top.
4) Open-top, empty egg (we all know what THAT means...)

This project will take time because of my health issues, but eventually I want to get it done and make molds so I can share them with others.

Looking forward to seeing high-res photos of the final version of Kane!

Excellent! I'd say 97% there. Can't put my finger on what, but I'd say the eyes need a bit of work. Maybe the bottom lids...either the curve is wrong, or lid too thick. Something....
