true-i was just hoping, wanting it to be like leia Boushh-a portrait and a seperate helmet to interchange.

No need for ANH Vader (or Stormtroopers) to have a separate helmet-less portrait as, unlike Boushh, those never come off in the movie.

I'm curious if SS Vader and Stormie have some kind of a head under the helmets like he RAH stormie has...

I hope there is esp under the Stormie as all helmets need a bit of helmet wobble to look realistic, vader doesn't matter to me as the neck brace holds your head, but the other helmets need to let a bit of gravity take hold if you tilt the head IMO....

I think we did be having this at some point of time. Not to forget, there ought be more than one head sculpt with the difference age groups for the clones.

How many passed on this figure? I did because of the many design flaws in the helmet. I am hoping though that these deformations are production errors that occurred in casting the prototype. The errors are too obvious to be missed by mistake by any discerning eye, let alone professional artists. If it really did slip by unnoticed, hopefully Sideshow will do the right thing and redo the helmet like Hot Toys did for the TDK cowl.

I ordered two, and I'm on the verge of cancelling both. Not because of the helmet, but because the initial charm has worn off, and I'm back to just wanting commanders.

I felt the the long awaiting time for product release does let enthusiasm die down sometimes.

I still want this figure to go with Gen Kenobi and the eventual Cody. The only thing holding me back is the price.

Price is an issue, but an issue that I'll deal with next year :)
I've ordered three from FPi, not sold on paying an extra £20 ($40-odd) for the skittles base.

Helmet does look a little off, but I have nothing in a similar scale to compare it to, so I'm not bothered by it.

Cheers,
Doug

Since troopers of various colour scheme is to follow, I bet Sideshow definitely would know the important of getting this first one right.:emperor

I still have no clue what people are talking about with the helmet, I looked at the picture where they had actual film shots in the background and the toy in the foreground and they looked the same to me, etc for the obvious paint flaw, which was just an error on the proto.

ANYWAYS. Anyone see the latest It Collects from Beyond segment where they find Cody's communicator? Can it be a hint of Cody?

Re: Utapau 12"

I can tell you with 100% certainty that the bottom front of the helmet is indeed inaccurate. While the picture on the front page is blurry, and I can see where it could indeed look accurate to the shot it isn't. The clones are the main attraction to Star Wars for me, so I've payed more attention to them than anything else, so I can see it right away.

However, I can also understand how some people that aren't super clone fans could easily over look it, or how someone can say that if it is inaccurate it's not that big a deal to them it still is in fact inaccurate.

I'm not doubting that its inaccurate if the clone fans say so, I just would love for someone to specifically spell out what is inaccurate so those of us who don't see it can know. To my mind it looks great.

I still find it amazing that people can see minute angular or dimensional errors on a clone helmet's jaw line, but the total inaccurate and cop out of the material for Qui-Gon's tunic went virtually unmentioned.

Its still gonna look awesome on the shelf so the very small offness that it is won't be an issue for me. People lose too much fun in collecting when they worry about these tiny tiny details.
