I'd rehash them again, but I'm already burned out on this debate. The helmet is inaccurate, period.

The clone helmet looks closer to the clone helmet than the Bespin Han looks to Harrison Ford. At least there's no mistaking what/who it is. I see some of the complaints, but I think the changes seem like natural quality loss from scaling and sculpting.

Not when Hasbro got it much more accurate in the 3.75" scale(!!!) and when every other licensee (Gentle Giant, Kotobukiya, Master Replicas, Medicom, et al) has nailed it as well... in all kinds of scales (including 1:6).

No excuses. Sideshow needs to fix this. And hopefully they will.

Are you able to eyeball this or are you busting out the calipers? I seriously doubt the 3 3/4" Hasbro item has enough detail to represent the original better than even a flawed 1/6, but I'm just a normal human who can't visually compute this.

I can most definitely eyeball it. It's obvious to me. But then, I'm a Clone trooper péripatéticienne.

I am still holding on to my 2pc pre-order for the Utapau Trooper. But it looks increasingly likely I may pull the trigger to cancel at least 1pc from my pre-order.

What is most troubling is that SSC is less apt to respond to these noticing of issues. Remember Bespin Han? His fat ass originally had Catapillar Eyebrows that SSC noticed us ^^^^^ing about and then we saw a production blog update with a modified head. To me this is more serious than that but I have a feeling that we won't see a change.

I do hope that I'm wrong.

That's why I respect Hot Toys for making changes to improve TDK Bats even though they didn't have to. But as for Utapau, if enough people cancel, I am sure Sideshow will listen.

As I said, if they fix the helmet, I'll keep my preorder. If not, I'll cancel. No problem; this isn't a must-have for me.

Despite it's flaws I think it looks better then the Medicom helm, less elongated & more capable of fitting someones head. I hope they fix it but it doesn't kill the deal for me.

I was just in my account cancelling some pre-orders, and I noticed that where the box should have been to select the Utapau clone, it said something like 'contact us if you wish to cancel'.

Anyone ever seen that before?

Yep, I had that when I binned mine.
Asked for a call back (as I'm in the UK) and they sorted it without fuss and sent me an e to let me know it was sorted.
