A year ago who would have thought an armored trooper would be released and people would pass on it.
It seems outside of Lando there is a vacuum of most anticipated figure.

Well, people wanted to see armored figures, and more so OT ones, but more interested in other Clones than standard troops, which Medicom has heavily saturated the market with.

SSC's greatest trooper success will be with OT Troops, especially ones Medi hasn't done, and ROTS Commanders, which Medi hasn't done. Some folks will be happy to have Clones in scale with other SSC figures, but for the most part, the large numbers will crave pieces that haven't been done yet like Bly, Cody, Gree, Rex.

IMO SSC should have waited to announce a new SW figure (especially armored) until they sent out Obi-Wan. They're kinda competing with themselves here.

I think this is a good choice of clone though, glad they aren't doing something Medicom already did. Medicom is now into the EPII clones, so I hope SSC stays away from those. I agree with everyone else, lets see some Commanders.

Figure looks nice, but I'm not sure I want it without knowing Cody is coming for sure. Like everyone else, I'll preorder it, and wait to see what happens.

I may change my mind between now and PPO. It just looks too cool. I'll order it and see where my funds are (ie if I am able to save) when it comes time for shipping.

No need to order this PPO, it's not a commander and the exclusive will most likely be a non factor. Get it cheaper elsewhere.

I was wondering about this too. How closely does the clone armor resemble trooper armor? Either way, with one of each on the way, Sideshow just needs to tweak things now to get the different variations going.

Well, since the announcement isn't Lando, Jango, Boba, Dooku, Chewie, 3PO or R2, I'm glad to see it's a clone. I'm pleased with this announcement and glad to see Sideshow keeping the momentum going with announcements. Since Medicom already did a Shock Trooper and 501st Trooper, I expected Sideshow to do the Utapau first. Now, I just hope Cody and other commanders aren't far behind and I hope that Sideshow will do the Shock Trooper and 501st Trooper even though Medicom already did them. I only picked up the Shock Trooper because it was on sale a while back and it actually fits in nicely with my Sideshow figures, but I'd like a Sideshow version for consistency.

Here are my speculations. . . I think the price will be the same as the Stormtrooper and that it will be available for pre-order with next week's newsletter like Antilles. I bet there won't be an exclusive either.

I'm torn on whether to get two of these. I ordered two Stormtroopers, but only because I thought they would look awesome flanking Vader. My wallet is telling me to only get one, but my mind is telling me two of these would look awesome flanking Obi-Wan and Cody. I'll probably order two and see how my finances look at the time of shipping.

Also, I was just wondering. . . Does anyone remember the results of the Sideshow Clone poll that was done a while back asking which clone we preferred? I have looked around and can't find the results anywhere. I was just wondering if Sideshow is basing their clone releases on the poll results.

I am THRILLED! I think he looks great...an excellent display companion for ROTS Kenobi and now the light of hope for Cody actually being produced is really shining brightly! The Utapau color scheme is actually one of my favorites and yes, I'm glad to see their first offering is of a variant that, other than the Koto model, has not been produced by a 1:6 figure company yet.

I'm really liking the scuffs and weathering too...yes, it's kinda a drag for multiples, but if it's pulled off really well, it's going to display great.

Now I know what I'm using my Sideshow gift card I got with that recent "Iron Man" DVD set for....

I agree with your thinking MaulFan. It makes perfect sense, but I don't think Sideshow will see it that way and I doubt a savings will be passed on to us. If the price is less than the Stormtrooper, I will be pleasantly surprised.

Are we sure there will be an exclusive, I was figuring it would just be a regular release figure. Could be wrong, but that was the way it read to me.

Either way... not sure if I'll order or not, but probably will just to have the option (especially if there is an exclusive) and wait and see if more interesting variants come out or if I can just get a plain B&W.

Out of curiosity... is there a lot of difference between the AOTC Clones and ROTS; besides the helmet of course.
