I imagine the original 12" Kenner stuff is pretty reasonable, by and large?

I was tempted to get into the line, but the first releases shot up in value pretty quick that I did not feel like paying the secondary market prices. Then as I thought about them more I didn't want to dedicate the space or money to collecting them.

This is becoming more and more of an issue for me as well! Nature of the beast, I suppose.

One of the reasons I started collecting vintage rather than new SW stuff. I KNOW that one day my SW collection will feel "complete". With new stuff, it just accumulates and accumulates - and so much of it is out there and keeps coming out that most of it eventually becomes all but worthless.

Whereas Kenner will always be first, it will always remain collectable, and they're not making any more of it (rocket firing Boba aside - which I still need).

I still need to get Vader, Luke, Leia, Han, Stormtrooper and IG-88.

I thought the GG 12" Kenner figs were neat until I saw them in a comic shop in NC a few weeks ago. Completely changed my mind. They just don't have the charm vintage SW figures have.

I was into them at first, but when I got Han and Chewie in the mail, I started realizing how bad they look blown up. Plus, the paint on them is flat, so they don't feel like the vintage figures to me. And I hated the mold lines around the edge. They seemed overstated at that size.

I'm still tempted to get the cantina aliens because they are the funkiest SW figures in the whole line. So colorful, too.

1. Most are reasonably priced, but IG-88 (rarity), Leia (bun condition), and Stormtrooper (whiteness) seem to fetch more money due to what I've listed.

2. I have an extra if you need one.

I thought the GG line was pretty novel but I never really considered buying any.... If they ran, say 20-30 ea I might have bought a couple but really, for what you get it's not worth it... Essp when you consider how much REAL Kenner goodness you could get with those funds.

BTW, stay away from the WWE Legends figures... One Macho Man figure later I have a total of ten of the damn things.
