we tried last year, after 9 years of not thinking about it..made it to almost the 3rd month and miscarried. we're kinda in the same boat thinking it wasnt meant to be. we have a dog and we treat her like a kid and both seem to be happy with it. but as she (wife) pushes 38 we have to make a definitive decision.

Yeah. Her sister just had twins last year and she was 38...so the window is open but sooner or later we have to decide yes or no.
if we have one i want a daughter who learns to play soccer from me and goes to play for the lady Gunners. and will be able to quote SW and LOTR from heart....but the problem is you don'g get to pick the kind of kid you have....thinks that's what worries us both.

Baby is almost 17 months old now, and is turning into quite the dictator around here. I'm really sorry to hear about the troubles some of the rest of you guys have had. We're considering a #2, but we're both over 30, and one of my co-workers had a miscarriage last year, while another one currently is pregnant with a 1/4 chance the child will be autistic. Those kinds of things worry the ____ out of me.

I hear you man, I'd rather people really think about having another child instead of bringing an unwanted child into this world. The Autism angle is scary as hell, I consider myself lucky.

My daughter is just shy of 13 months, we were very fortunate with the pregnancy in terms of health. I'm more in the one and done camp and my wife is leaning towards that direction.
Two and a half years ago my wife and I bought a three bedroom house for us and our little girl. FINALLY a place to put all my collectibles! We found out the month we closed on the house that she was pregnant with child #2.

My daughter's room is full of Muppets crap. Two Master Replica dolls, stuffed animals, Palisades busts, huge poster.
We got a 4 bedroom, and the need for a collection room was a big reason why from my perspective. Now I've got one room for my collection and one "guest bedroom" that is actually just a storage room. . .

Nice. Next year we plan to move cross country to the NW and a four bedroom will be the only way to go from here on out.
We were also looking for a 3 bedroom to start, but the prices weren't so different in the neighborhoods we were looking at so I just decided we should go for it. Of course, my sales pitch to the wife was more along the lines of "what if we have another child?"
See I don't even need to go there. My wife wants me to have a man-cave, and get my stuff out of the living room.
