Are you on the square?
Nice. Next year we plan to move cross country to the NW and a four bedroom will be the only way to go from here on out.
Where to? I've had this crazy notion recently to move to Portland.

I love this thread... It's a shame that every thread on SSF isn't like this one.
New haul!

If there's a bright center to the universe, I live on the city that it's farthest from. I am thinking about relocating to Minneapolis for several reasons. But I also oddly enough considered Portland, OR and Austin, TX.

I'm particularly fond of vintage Squid Head.
\That's awesome! Way to go Rich!
Slow down or you'll pass me up.
Nice! Portland, actually, to answer your question DW! That's where my wife and I moved to Tampa from. We miss it. A lot.
The culture is just fantastic and its a much better place to raise a family. Lots of "artsy" things to do with the various state of the art cinemas and rustic theater pubs. Skiing, mountains, the ocean, just a two and half hour drive to Seattle, no natural disasters or over the top crime, etc.
It's either 19 or 20 more that I need....
No doubt Ben! I forgot what an awesome figure SH is!
How was the birthday?

LA or San Diego would be my top choices, but realistically, I don't think they would work cost-of-living wise. From what I've read, Portland seems like it would be a great fit. Breweries for me and wineries for my wife. It seems like a great place to be outdoors. I hear there's even year-round skiing nearby. I don't even want to be outside anymore here.
We're actually planning a trip there in March for my wife's 40th birthday. She's worried she'll fall in love with the place. All part of the plan.
