Gak! Those are horrible, Prime... Horrible!
If it's any consolation, it wasn't THAT easy finding such crappy Joes.
Seems like '02 was a particularly bad year...

I've never tried or heard of using peroxide... but the results in the link are pretty badass. I'll give it a try. I've got some peroxide at home, but not sure what percentage it is.
My 8D8 figure turned yellow on me for no apparent reason. I had it displayed away from direct or indirect sunlight. When I bought him he was a nice white color, then a year later I picked him up and he looked like he'd been sitting in piss for the last 30 years
Luckily he's a cheap figure so replacing him is not a problem; still odd though when something like that happens for no reason.
Hey, Joes and TFs were what got me back into collecting a few years ago, and YoJoe.com was one of the first toy message boards I joined, so I consider myself pretty familiar with that stuff.
Degradation of O-rings is also an issue, though for me, not a huge one. I think it is assumed that O-rings are gonna be switched out for older figures at some point. Easy enough to do. I certainly wouldn't hold it against a seller for not having the original O-rings.
As for yellowed figures, I haven't tried it, but some swear by the hydrogen peroxide trick:

From what I've read, sunlight doesn't necessarily play a role, as others with stored figures experienced yellowing. Seems to be the nature of the plastic.
I've seen a Wampa go from peepee yellow to bone white with the peroxide method, pretty sure it was on RS.
8D8 would be a good figure to test it out on!

Six more! Awesome, Foga.
I forgot I also got my fake vinyl cape for Jawa.
To bad that's like 300-350 dollars worth of figures
Even more if I get a blue snags.

Jeez, I think Yak Face and EV-9D9 alone might cost you (and me for that matter - they're two I still need as well) more than that...
If? Sheesh, when brother... when
I dropped around $200 on EV-9D9 and Yak Face alone... those guys were painful; but man are they cool Make sure you study up on EV-9D9 though; lot of QC and breakage issues on that one.
Mine came with some seriously warped legs, but a dip in hot water to loosen them up and straighten them out followed by a quick dip in ice water fixed him right up.
Do you mean $200 for both or $200 each?
If for both, that was a damn good deal. I expect to pay around $100 for EV-9D9 but at least $200 for Yak Face, but maybe I'm a little off on my going rates...
Yes, $200 total... I got EV-9D9 for around $70 or $80 shipped and Yak Face was $120. I got a pretty good deal on Yak Face, especially for his condition.
I think you should have not trouble getting a nice Yak Face for under $150 shipped.
These are the one's I got:
I think you got lucky Jo, unless "classic" Kenner figures took a total ____. I'd say to find a mint to near mint Yak Face you'd be paying more than $150. Hell there was a time when he went for more than $300! But there was a time when I could have bought a ton, literally close to 20 or more for $60 a pop. Seriously.
Very nice - well I guess that's good news for me!
For some reason I thought Yak Face in mint condition would be somewhere between $200-250... But like I said, I haven't really been paying attention. I'm out of the game... for now. Just temporarily.
I was prepared to spend a lot for a good 9D9 as I've heard truly mint (i.e. unbroken) ones are quite difficult to find.
He was when I bought him! But that's so Celebration III, and so 2005. EV-9D9 is a bit trickier, you don't want to move her arms because she's prone to breaking, but you want to make sure you don't buy a glued arm either. And SW guys are notorious for pulling a fast one over a buyer. Because they now we'll pay...
