Understandable... there is something to be said for actually seeing the figure in front of you when you buy it.

I got lucky with the one I bought off of Rebelscum; got one in better condition than I thought I could afford ;lol

I dread the day I have to pay for one of those, but I will forget all about it once he's in front of me. :yess:

Rebelscum seems to be the best place to find decent prices on the POTF figures. I got a Dignitary and Gunner in C9 condition for $70 shipped...that's easily $20-$30 less than I would have paid for the same on eBay.

The Yak is worth it, I mean if you're into these things. I can't wait for you guys to buckle for Droids and Ewoks.

Dang, that's a good deal on those guys. :hi5:

Stay on target... stay on target :panic:

That's what I'm saying... and why I've got my old Gunner and Dignitary up on eBay now. Although I guess I need to add a photo of the gunner's shoulders as those can get messed up easily. A loose gunner without the weapon but super clean paint went for $67 recently :google

I could honestly see myself picking up the Ewoks Series... and maybe the Droids C-3PO and R2 (if I could get a decentish price); but the rest of the droids series is kind of poo-poo looking. And no chance at a real Vlix makes it easier to avoid the completist bug.

This thread is killing me.... Seeing all this vintage SW goodness has me wanting to start picking more figures up.

What's the best way to go? Large lots to start off with?

I think so... the lot Waller just scored would be an awesome start; and you'd have some extras to sell back to offset the cost.

I really went the slow route, the first time I thought to myself "I could actually complete a set of these" was probably about 10 years ago. I've just bought in spurts here and there until this last year when I got more serious about dropping the cash on them.

Welcome to the Dark Side. :emperor

Lots can be good if you do the cost per figure breakdown because buying a bunch from different people can suck on the shipping costs. Luckily there are a couple great sellers who have a big selection that will save you some money in that respect.

I've purchased a couple times from eBay stores Blue Snaggletooth and Solo's Shop.

Yea I'm gonna walk away, this is too dangerous of a place to lurk :lurking

So for a decent lot (good number of figures, clean paint, accessories) I should assume that I'll pay at least a couple hundred then? I guess average price per figure is really what I should be looking at... My collection currently is so small that any duplicates wouldn't be that big of a deal. I guess my second question would be where to buy? Ebay? Rebelscum forums?

I know a guy locally if you guys are serious. He has some good stuff, selling his entire vintage collection. Even a plastic cape Jawa! Once I pick over his collection I can set you guys up with him. :naughty

I've bought all mine on eBay so far, but Rebelscum is another good place to buy.

Those are all good places.

As for price it really depends on how much is there, if the figures are rare or not, condition, and if you get a good deal or not.

I got a great lot on the board of 40 or so figures for about $100; picked it over and then put the remains back on eBay and broke even.

I used to check Cloud City Collectibles, The Earth Toy Mall, etc. places like that. Also SDCC and the SW Celebrations are a great way to pick up figures. Also local toy shows too. If you're ever in the area Phat Collectibles in Anaheim is a cool toy store. If you can help it buy them locally, and always check the feet...lots of kids wrote their initials on them. I know I did. :monkey2
