And last, but not least... R2-D2 w/pop-up lightsaber; the final figure I needed to complete my vintage set :rock

Congrats man! One day, I too will be there! Was R2 one of the more difficult to acquire? I'm trying to track down more POTF figures as well...

I like the collection. Pretty much what I want, along with maybe an X-Wing and TIE. I also consider the Rancor and other beasts "figures", but I will probably get at least these token vehicles as well.

I think you need to find a better shelf to display this awesomeness - doesn't seem right to have such great figures on the floor! :)

Too bad about the Kraken - that is an awesome figure! Never seen it before... but I loved that movie as a kid!

i LOVE toy store shots. i've got a bunch of them including some of the one's posted above. if anybody has some, please share.

this might actually be some one's collection set up to look like a store display...

What do you think you spent to make this happen GB ?

Which ones cost you more ? WHen I say more, I would say over $10

Man, a lot of them will run you over $10... the most expensive (generally) when it comes to loose figures are the last 17 that were part of the POTF line. They can range from a low of $30 a piece up to $125+. The main cast from ANH are generally in the $20+range and of course Blue Snaggletooth will set you back at least $75. The other ANH, ESB and ROTJ figures are more in that $15 and under category.

The most I spent on a single figure was $120 shipped for Yak Face.

In total my Kenner collection's value (just adding up individual values) around $1800; and to be honest I probably have invested close to that amount for them. I do think if I sold the entire collection in one shot I'd get a bit more as complete sets generally bring a bit more than the individuals, and certainly more than large incomplete lots.

I have about $600 invested in just the last 17 figures :panic:

R2 wasn't too bad to find, just happened to be the last one I needed. Also I was trying to find one for under $75 which can be a bit tricky.

I plan to add a Falcon, X-Wing and Tie Fighter to the collection... maybe a landspeeder for good measure :lol

As for display, space is limited and I kind of like them all spilling out of the small cramped space. But if I ever have a larger room I'll find something more dignified for them :lol

it's not a true toy store set up unless you hide a few rare figures behind the common ones. i remember those days of looking through rows and rows of figures to find that one hard to find one hidden in back. it was probably hidden there by another kid so that nobody would find it while he went to ask his mom for money.

ahh, the good ol' days.

Yeah, looking through racks of figures was always a lot of fun :rock

Anyone remember those contests were kids would get to go on a 5 minute toy shopping spree? I always respected the ones that would grab from the back of the rack and slide the entire stack into their carts :rock :rock :rock

That is what i remember most about going to TRU with my parents back in the day, they had sooo much stock and it was quite overwhelming.

We won't see days like this ever again.
