it's not a true toy store set up unless you hide a few rare figures behind the common ones. i remember those days of looking through rows and rows of figures to find that one hard to find one hidden in back. it was probably hidden there by another kid so that nobody would find it while he went to ask his mom for money.

ahh, the good ol' days.

I remember the old toy store here in Australia my mum used to take me to. It was called Toy And Novelty. It was a huge warehouse. I remember finding a POTF Luke stormtrooper and quickly searching through all the other racks for a Han Stormtrooper. Alas, it didnt even exist! But i got the Luke Stormie, and to this day its my most cherished vintage star wars buying memory. i am still trying to find a MINT crystal clear bubble Luke storm. Such a mission! :panic:

These pics are great! Enjoyed reminiscing today...wish I could say I was able to say we had stores like this in Idaho when I was growing up. It was pretty much Payless Drug Store for any action figure I ever wanted.

I do still have my SE's v2 that I threatened to stop being friends with a buddy of mine if he bought it. :lol Sits right here on my desk right next to SS v1.

Can you spot the vintage Jabba in this photo?

Great memories. Makes me want to get more of things I remember from my childhood.

Anyone have Voltron ?

I don't, but I've also got Voltron on the brain... I've been wondering for a while now about which one to get. I know there are two main vintage versions - the one that fit the figures and the smaller die-cast one... And there's a Masterpiece one nowadays, and what else? I saw that BBTS recently got in some kind of Voltron from '97 or something?

I'm just wondering which one I'd like to track down. I'm thinking probably the plastic one with the figures, but I really have no idea what to look for.

BTW, I'm only talking about the lion version, here.

I believe someone on the boards has one for sale right now, Darthrazz I think. :dunno

I think I only want the Lions.

Ideally I would have two. One to show complete, and then the lions around him.

I just got a nice art book that has me all nostalgic again. With this thread not helping me. LOL.

Thanks for the heads up! I don't think that's the one I want though... and it does say it's a bit dinged up...

Yeah, that'd be nice. I think I'd get the figures too. I remember liking them. Only the five main ones though.

Pretty sure his is the 90's reissue of Voltron... not the original vintage one.

I have vintage diecast versions of Voltron I, II and III:

Do you know how to tell the difference? Or where I could find out?

Yikes, I guess I was unaware of Voltron III. Looks weird. Nice collection though!

The die-cast Lion Voltron seems to be the more popular one to get, I take it?

I have the toynami

Love it...

It's not old school, but it gets the job done.

Well, I think that this is the only scale that I, II and III were released in.

And FYI:
I- Vehicle Voltron
II- 6 armed Voltron
III- Lion Voltron

I and III had multiple releases in the US, but I think this is the only version of II from Matchbox.

You sure about that???

Don't you remember the plastic Lions, that were a bit bigger, and you could put the 3 3/4" figures into them?

III- Lion Voltron

Ach, I had a feeling I was getting them all mixed up. That's for the info.

I mean this is the only scale all 3 were released in that was the same.

Voltron II had some smaller versions, and Voltron III had a ton of differrent versions including the plastic one that the 3 3/4" figures fit in.

But if you want a semi-matching set of the 3 Voltrons; this was the only size it happened in... hope that makes sense.
