Nice pic!

Yup, totally agree. No need to rush on any of these, especially the POTF guys. I've been lucky enough to get a few already in dead mint condition - so far I've got all the Ewoks, Endor Luke, and General Calrissian... Not much yet but it's a start!

Still need to finish out the ESB and ROTJ lines as well, though.

Slow and steady wins the race :bunnydanc

I think that Amanaman is probably may favorite design of the series... such a unique look and his staff is pretty gruesome by SW standards.

Scored a couple more over the weekend... Lobot, Luke (SW) and Endor Han. My initial bid was made on Luke while surfing on my phone and at that point it looked pretty minty white. Once looking at the pics on my lap top I found that he looked a bit yellow so I think this might just be a stop gap till I buy a crisp white... Lobot and Han look really good though.

Agreed. Going to be taking it slow. :)

But it is hard when you get the fever !

Yup!

So far I've been going through one dealer though, so I wait for him to get the figures I want in the condition I want. It helps to keep things at a slower pace...

That would be nice to have one person to buy through, especially if you are able to see them first hand. You can get some great deal on eBay, but one badly lit photo can really set you back if you end up with a figure in bad condition.

Got the Mad Scientist "Dissect-An-Alien" set in the mail; pretty cool stuff. Oneday I'll get some slime and have fun with him :rock

He's a surprisingly cool little guy. I always assumed the guts were just crammed in there, but they all (kind of) fit together in a specific way.

The clear part of his body was pretty sticky feeling when I first opened him, not sure if the rubber is degrading (visually it looks fine) or if there was some play residue? Either way a bit of warmy soapy water and he's good to go :rock

Wow!!
Never seen that toy before!
It's awesome!!

BTW, I'm gathering some of my vintage figures, getting them cleaned and back on display shortly.
I recently scored a Snake Mountain set for $25.00!! :yess:
It's in pretty good condition, and almost complete, need a couple of pieces and I need to check if the microphone works, but overall, it was a bargain!

Also, I'll be visting my folks in April, so I'll bring more of my old toys with me! :rock!

Question for you guys,
Some of my old Thundercats and MOTU figures have a bit of sticky dust built on mostly the legs and arms, what do you suggest I use for cleaning them? Just water?

Warm water and a mild dish soap will usually do the trick; just let them soak for a few minutes and use a non-abrasive cloth.

Paper towels usually seem to work pretty well, but I'm sure there are many options that can work. Best rule of thumb is to start of with the least invasive technique as you can always remove more dirt, but you can't replace stripped off paint :lecture

I actually don't see them in hand - I found him through Ebay, but he's really good to deal with and we see eye to eye on condition.

Very cool. How are his prices ?

Probably a little on the pricey side. I mean, not terrible, but I probably am not getting the deals some of you guys were talking about. To me it's worth it, since I'm kind of collecting these "on the side", and slowly.

I guess it sounds kind of terrible, but I just don't want to put in the time and effort to collect these in the same way I do Joes - know what I mean? Besides, even when I get a "C-9.5" GI Joe figure off Ebay and am disappointed by the condition, often it only needs a minty arm or leg to make it pristine, and Joes are easy to take apart for that. SW, not so much... so when I buy a Kenner figure I want to make sure it's perfect.

Or near enough for me, anyway. I don't mind a spec or two of factory wear, but I don't like obvious play wear.

Freaking hot ass water :lecture Deak told me this.

Yes to Galactiboy you listen to, I actually use toothbrushes (soft) to clean figures. And if they have screws (JOES or TFormers) then I don't soak. I rinse, scrub, rinse, shake dry, and then dry it with a towel. Then I let it sit on a dish towel to air dry for about 12 hours or so.

Still have an extra Kenner Yoda? I need a new robe, my orange snake Yoda has a little tear on the back. Luckily my brown snake (tee-hee) Yoda is in great shape. LMK Walla, and I could take a chunk of that Blue Snaggletooth.

I do have an extra Yoda, but I think there's a stain on his robe. Damn that Dagobah swamp. :panic:

just got this in. now i have a matching set. i have the he-man backpack from when i was a kid.
you NEVER see this skeletor or he-man backpack on ebay so i had to have it.

If you like books though the Kellerman one is easily the best; still one I want to have in my collection. Just sucks that it now runs around $80 :google Another good option (and one I used a lot) is the Star Wars Action Figure Archive... you can get it cheap and it has a lot of useful information and is a fun coffee table book.

Downside is that it also includes stinky Hasbro figures :yuck

There was a rumor last year that a second edition of the Kellerman book was coming out. No sign of any official word, though.

There is an amazing book being worked on called The Saga Museum. It's supposed to have photos of every figure, vehicle, playset and accessory released from 1977 to 2008. I saw the mock-up at CV and it was beautiful! More information and sample pages at their site: https://www.thesagamuseum.com/
