Yup. You got Disney World snobs and finally at last, you can add the voice of reason. ;)

Haha, it does.

But okay, let's back up. I only said Disneyland is the better place because of the very first post of this thread, claiming WDW was better. The original poster couldn't even spell Disneyland right. I normally wouldn't engage in turf wars such as this... although, Disneyland really is my preferred Disney experience.

So here's something I'd like to know from the WDW supporters:

1. You prefer Walt Disney World. Why? What's your favorite ride/attraction? Why is this place "better"?

2. How many times have you gone?

3. Have you been to Disneyland? Did you go before or after your visit to Walt Disney World?

Re: Walt Disney World and Dineyland(s) Discussion

The only ride Disneyland has I want in WDW is Mr. Toad back. :p

I do want to visit Disneyland though. All of them! :)

Re: Walt Disney World and Dineyland(s) Discussion

I haven't been to Disneyland, which is why I hesitate to call one better than the other. But I think WDW does have alot more to choose from. And its got a better castle. But for me Disneyland is like Mecca, and I have no doubt I will weep as I pass through its gates. Ah, and this Saturday will be my 7th or 8th trip to Disney World since January...

Never notice that I mispelled Disneyland. :lol I put the better thing in as a joke. To answer your questions.

1. Why I prefer Walt Disney World. We have Epcot and Hollywood Studios in addition to the Magic Kingdom. Favorite Ride / attraction. This is a hard one. Probably Muppet*Vision 3D. Why is this place better. I feel Disneyland is a prototype and Walt Disney World is the finished product.

2. How many times have I gone? So many times that ive lost count.

3. Have I been to Disneyland? No, buy I plan to go. Hopefully next year if I can go to D23 Expo.

BTW: Im not WDW snob. :)

Re: Walt Disney World and Dineyland(s) Discussion

I just had to say that that talking Mickey is awesome. They did a great job with everything about it. I can't wait to visit again. It's been too long.

On the current line of discussion, I can't say whether one is better or not, only that I hope to visit Disneyland someday. Then maybe I can form an opinion :)

Re: Walt Disney World and Dineyland(s) Discussion

Im just wondering if they have Donald like Mickey will he have a translator with him. :D

sigh... I had this huge reply for ya but this message board logged me out and lost what I wrote. I guess I'll give you the short short version now (It was epic long).

Sorry about the WDW snob thing.

And of course you prefer WDW as it is all you've been exposed to, and that's totally fine. You and I, the entire world, have also been trained to believe that WDW is BETTER than Disneyland all our lives. That's Disney brainwashing magic at its finest. Even while living in CA, I was always told on their commercials that Florida is where its at.

Math doesn't lie. Four parks. World > Land. Why bother with Disneyland when I can see the World?

Regarding what you said about Disneyland being the prototype and WDW being the finished perfected product, I went to WDW expecting that. I went to WDW expecting a Super Disneyland - Disneyland to the fourth power, if you will. It is grand. It is big. Cinderella Castle is impressive. But is that all it could boast? That it's.. bigger?

WDW is fine. I'm probably expecting too much. Or am i? I'm a huge Disney nerd obviously... but I think what I'm a bigger fan of, above all else, is Walt himself. He was the reason why we're even having this discussion. And if he designed Disneyland, and Magic Kingdom is supposed to be the idealized updated utopia that Walt dreamt up, I think they fell short. A couple billion dollars short.

Disneyland resort now has two parks: Disneyland Park and Disney's California Adventure. Florida has four: Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney Hollywood Studios, and Disney Animal Kingdom.

Being the attraction fiend that I am, I expected WDW to double Disneyland's attraction count. I expected this resort to make me wish I had two weeks instead of one. It didn't. And I've gone back three times total just to make sure.

I did the math. I counted all the attractions (even the minor ones) at all four WDW parks and then counted all attractions at Disneyland. WDW wins naturally with 20 more attractions than Disneyland.

Disneyland itself has about 53 attractions. Disney's California Adventure has 35. Magic Kingdom.. 49. Epcot, 19. DHS, 18. Animal Kingdom, 22.

I just feel that if I'm spending an entire week there and I'm paying more, then there should at least be more to do. That's all. And don't get me started on closing the Adventurer's Club!!!

Right now California Adventure is going through a billion dollar expansion that will add a handful of new rides and shows to the park.

Magic Kingdom is getting a Fantasyland update (finally) but... double Dumbo's, a Little Mermaid clone ride from California, and a bunch of fancy meet & greets? Please tell me there's more to this.

I think Mickey talking is awesome!!

BTW,
I've been to both parks and I think both have Pros and Cons,
but Disneyland somehow feels more magical...
It's hard to explain...
I can't wait for Cars Land and I need to check out Disney's world of Color!! :rock!
