I'll be hitting up Disneyland possibly Saturday (maybe) and Monday (definitely). Any photo requests? (nothing fancy like Forestlite! haha I don't bring tripods).

I hope it's not too late for requests... could you take pics of the Star Wars helmets in Launch Bay? They're all enclosed in a case at the Meet and Greet for Darth Vader... and some Haunted Mansion because that attraction rules.

Diagon Alley is amazing...we're talking Disney level attention to theming and detail. I would be shock if some ex-Imagineers didn't have a hand in this area...

Think Walt would have been totally bummed by all these property acquisitions of Star Wars, Marvel, etc. His focus would have been creating new ideas and stories....

Thank you for the comment! Yes, I know July will be mad crazy (I've been to the park during the peak summer season)! I'm going to try to hit the parks early in the morning, stay until a little after lunch, head back to the resort, and return just before sunset so I can take some photos. I may leave and come back a couple of hours before closing for night shots and park closing.

Few photos from Disneyland Hotel...

Into the park. The Disneyland Railroad is now closed in preparation for Star Wars Land, but on Main street and Frontierland/New Orleans Square stations you can get up close to the trains and take pictures.

Mickey's Soundsational Parade was going while I went up to see the trains.

Thanks!! Eaten at all three and you can't go wrong with any of those. Some further thoughts:

Napa Rose is the priciest and more highly rated of the three. There's a chef's table option where you can sit at the kitchen and you tell them what you're allergic to or don't like and they just make a meal for you. If you have the funds, that may be the most memorable experience.

Carthay Circle is in DCA and has a great view of the fireworks if you plan it right.

Steakhouse 55 is the furthest of the three from the parks (but closest to the monorail).


I think it really depends on what time you have and what your wife likes. If she's REALLY into steaks then Steakhouse 55 is a fine choice. All three of those locations have cocktails as well so that's always fun.

For anyone planning a trip to DLR, get to the part of Main street where you're between the shopping stores as pictured above. Don't bother wasting your time getting a 2-hour head start and camping out in front of the castle, where everyone thinks is the best viewing location. This is because the rooftop lights project A LOT of images onto the building faces (also pictured above) and gets the most "snow" fall during the Frozen segment of the show. My absolute favorite location is where you're between the shopping buildings and where you could also see the Matterhorn mountain. The same happens on the face of Matterhorn. Lights are projected showing an amazing array of colors and characters coordinated to the music and fireworks. Bring a jacket, beanie, and some gloves if you have 'em!
