Luigi's Rollickin Roadsters was not what I was expecting it to be. It's like a mild version of Tow Mater's Junkyard Jamboree. Rollickin Roadsters ride seems to target the younger fans (2+ year old) as it has a much lower height requirement compared to Junkyard Jamboree.

It's not a perfect addition but I'm sure it will be more popular than the flying tires at least. My hope is if they can change up the programming and let the cars just go about randomly.

Here's a look at the space to the left of Toon Town, the future home of Star Wars Land in Anaheim. The yellow building in the back is the Team Disney Anaheim corporate offices.

A wider shot. The berm is on the right side of the screen with Frontierland just on the other side. That back side of Frontierland where the Big Thunder BBQ and Ranch and festival arena (where the Hunchback of Notre Dame show used to be) will become the front section of Star Wars Land

In this Big Thunder shot you can see the horizon, which is where Star Wars Land will rise up.

The Big Thunder Ranch BBQ area was pretty much just used as a segue way to get from Fantasy Land to Frontier Land, unless you wanted to go there and pet some barn animals. LOL! Not very many people back there. That will all but change once SW Land opens.

I imagine that back section to be packed full of people and so do the Imagineers. They've planned 3 entry/exit walkways into the new area: from Fantasy Land, Frontier Land, and another at Critter Country (just past Splash Mountain). The entire SW Land itself appears to be slightly larger than Tomorrow Land and Fantasy Land combined, but comes at the cost of losing some of Rivers of America. Sad.

I think 2018 is overly generous. They've been working on Avatar Land for how long now and it still doesn't open until 2017. Keep in mind they haven't even broke ground on sTar Wars Land yet. The pictures I'm showing you is a result of what they're demolishing and there's still a lot left to clear, which they still cannot do until part of the Rivers of America is drained. It's a long process and they have a long way to go. I think 2019 at the earliest, maybe 2020.

I must say - the first time I went on the Jamboree, I was doing it just to say I went on the ride. But I'll be damned if that ride isn't a ton of fun.

I don't know how the music / narration goes, but with the mild spinning of Jamboree mixed with the very nice looking ride vehicles, Roadsters must already be a huge improvement over the tires, when it comes to rider response.

I absolutely LOVE Mater's Junkyard Jamboree. I think it's a ton of fun. A hoot and a holler.

Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters is at best simply cute. The synchronized dance doesn't vary all that much and I'd prefer it was a random scramble around without knowing who or where you'll end up.

The last time I was on Junkyard Jamboree, there were 2 teenage boys (I don't know them personally) who also went on the ride. They had the look on their faces as if they were determined not to enjoy the ride. By the end, they couldn't wipe the smiles of their faces even if they wanted to. I enjoy the ride myself. That thing can pull some serious G's!
Rollickin Roadsters, by contrast, is what I said before... it appears to be geared towards a younger audience that can't get on Junkyard due to the height requirement.

My favorite rides at DCA: Tower of Terror, California Screamin', and Radiator Springs Racers, in that order. (Huge Twilight Zone fan here :wave)

As of now, the folks at Disney have not made an official announcement, but many are speculating that they are targeting a December 2018 launch.

Well, I probably wouldn't be going before then anyway. Looking forward to it for sure. Thanks for the info.

I kind of figured that'd be the case with Luigi's, but oh well. It still sounds / looks better than the tires.

Also, I'm glad the whole "the Jamboree is just fun as hell, don't fight it" aspect isn't mine alone.

Back with some pics...

Marvel got kicked out of tomorrowland and now they occupy a facade in Hollywood Land of California Adventure. A dual meet & greet for both Captain America and Spider-Man.

I was just there 3 days ago. Skies were dark and threatening to rain, but never came down until later in the evening.

That's an effeminate Cap. :lol

I'll be at DLR next week, from Sat to (I think) Wed.

This is the first Disney trip with our daughter, who just turned fifteen months. This is also the least excited I have ever been for a Disney trip.

I'm excited for all you all! Have fun! If you need suggestions about stuff, do let me know.
