Did I read that right in the Disney Parks Blog link... the Tinkerbell and fairy friends are moving to Epcot?

"And Tinker Bell and her fairy friends will be joining the cast at Epcot where they will have special roles bringing the flora and fauna to life during the Flower and Garden Festival."

What the hell? :slap :slap :slap

Hmm.... the Flower and Garden Festival is a yearly event where they make a ton of Disney characters out of the gardens. If t his is the extend of their stay, I don't see any harm of it.

They'll probably have a meet and greet there. Last year they had a play area for kids that had information about various plants and the fairies and a model of Tinker Bell's hot air balloon. Nearby is the butterfly garden. It will be great for F&G, and if they have a mini F&G area year round along with them, I think they'll fit in Epcot just fine.

Yeah it is. My Grandma has a friend who is one of the horticulturalists who does the topiaries as well as other flora stuff at the World.

I'm sorry it's taken awhile to post more pics from my Xmas trip to WDW... feeling a bit of WDW withdrawal. :monkey2

Anyway, when I was there I was quite struck with how beautiful the castle looked for the holidays. Bathed in what my son called "pixie dust", the castle sometimes looked purple as well as turquoise... just stunning. So I found myself taking pictures of it... A LOT! I won't bored you with ALL of them but here is a handful... Enjoy!

Beautiful shots, Proto. Don't hesitate to contribute more....never get tired of WDW pics!

My withdrawal is palpable. We are going again in September...Can't wait.

May 20th included on that? That's when Star Tours officially opens over there.

I think we're going to be there for the last few days of the Flower & Garden Festival, and the first day or two of SWW.

I don't know if I like Star Tours enough to brave what is sure to be insane lines for it, but if I can get on it reasonably (my wife hates simulators) or get a decent Fast Pass, I'll give it a shot.

I wasn't a huge fan of the dream lights on the castle at first, but I've come to absolutely love them. Did you get to see the show when they turn them on each night? It's really awesome.

I'm dying to see the new castle show. I was going to when I was there last weekend for my family reunion, but missed it. To all of you planning trips soon, congrats! I don't know that I could ever live somewhere that requires me to only be able to go every few months!

Well... at least you live closer to Disneyland so you'll be able to do it at some point in the future. I've been reading random blogs and whatnots saying they're spending more on the attraction at Disneyland. I don't know if that's true or what that means but I guess we'll have to wait and see!

Would be great for you to get some pics of it there and I get pics of Disneyland's and we can compare.

I'll get pics of the outside at least. Inside pictures never come out well because the pictures come out blurry when the flash is off, and look too odd when the flash is on. One of these days I should look into shutter speed or some such setting, since I can't imagine my camera is THAT bad, where I can't take a non-blurry picture when the flash is off.

But after two Disneyland trips in a row, we've been fiending WDW big time. DLR was great, but I think we know where we will land in the east coast/west coast feud.

Stopped at the resort for a few hours on Sunday night and snapped a few pictures... here's the update!

Walked across to Disney California Adventure and this old school marquee greets all who enter. This is the 2011 slogan

The Tron Legacy light cycle is now on (i think) permanent display at ElecTRONica, which was recently announced to be extended until Labor Day Weekend.

Also, if you check into DCA with the Gowalla app and show someone at Flynn's Arcade, you get this coin for free! And a bottle of coke.

Okay that's it! I didn't take very many pics nor did I stay that long. I just came to get my free coin hahaha.

I so badly want to see Disneyland. I have been to Disney World many times and never get tired of it. However I would love to see the original park at some point.

I'd recommend shooting for a mid/late 2012-2013 if you do want to see it. Even though a new Mickey Soundsational parade, new Little Mermaid ride, updated Star Tours, new restaurants, new Goofy Sky School coaster (rebranded from Mulholland Madness), Pirates 4 premiere party all debut this summer, there's a TON of construction going on building the new entrance land to California Adventure as well as Carsland. Both open next year.

And since you're a WDW pro (like many others here), it is a very different experience. But... it IS the original and the only park that Walt Disney was able to enjoy for himself (for 11 years).

I definitely plan on seeing them all at some point but I've only done the U.S. parks. Tokyo is the highest on my list.
