I had this poster for the grand opening at MGM in my room for almost a decade, until it tragically got torn up while moving my room:

Holy nards.... it's got Disney, Star Wars and M&Ms and Vintage all over it!!!

Thanks for sharing that! Is that your picture?

Voted! People are voting #3 pretty heavily. They're duped by stupid giraffe neck positions!

And and... I went to Disneyland today but spent most of my time at the bar haha. And I forgot the battery to my camera so I couldn't take pictures of the new character meet & greet Merida from Brave. womp womp.

It was also Bats Day so it was crowded as all hell. Bats Day is an unofficial day where guests who are REALLY INTO GOTH swarm the entire park with their black outfits and scary make up.

That is just weird.

Went to Hollywood Studios this weekend for the first Star Wars Weekends and the park was packed as usual. One of the best pieces of swag this year is an official looking Disney name tag that you can have made in the Star Wars writing of Aurabesh and then it has a planet name as where you are from. Pretty cool and I'm not sure if these will be available after the weekends or not (which would be silly if they didn't continue it).

I'm heading to my first SW weekends at Disney this weekend. My kids are huge fans. Do y'all have any tips? I don't want to miss out on anything.

Voted. Your wife's picture is easily the best one.

Good luck!

Thanks guys! :hi5:

Bats Day?! Yikes. I hope the drinks helped! :duff

Go as early as possible. If you want autographs you will need to be in fan-made lines outside the park before 6am. Make sure not to miss the exclusive merchandise tent that is over by Rockin Rollercoaster which is all the way across the park from the Star Wars area.

I'll be there for the weekend on June 2nd and 3rd. Does anyone know what Star Wars guest(s) will be there?

According to WDW Magic website:

Weekend III (June 1 -3)

Jake Lloyd (Anakin Skywalker – Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace)
Silas Carson (Nute Gunray/Ki-Adi-Mundi – Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace)
Catherine Taber - Star Wars: The Clone Wars voice talent-Padme Amidala

...and Spinal Tap.

Well, I won't need to stand in any of those lines.

I really love looking at your photos. They are capapble of telling such great stories.

Curious...are the rides really so deserted, or were you just in the right place at the right time? And how do you snap a picture of the stretching room in what I remember to be a very dark room? I'm assuming you're not using flash, right? Are you using a tripod? Is it just a great camera/lens?

Okay picture time!

Sunday was the 20th anniversary of Fantasmic! at Disneyland. The show that changed how theme park shows could be done using live performers, water screens, boats and ships, pyrotechnics, and a fire breathing dragon.

To celebrate, Disneyland gave Annual Passholders a chance to sign up for one of four special parties after normal park operating hours (10pm-1am) to enjoy a special 11:30pm showing of Fantasmic just for them, and also enjoy some rides and foods from Adventureland, Frontierland, and New Orleans Square.

I didn't wait for Fantasmic... instead i went on rides and snapped some pics. Haunted Mansion

Is this room actually stretching??
IMG_6100b.jpg

The corridor to our Doom Buggies. In Disneyland, we go underground to walk underneath the Railroad tracks. In Walt Disney World, the room stretches upwards and you stay on the same level. This room is a part of the ride in Florida.

After that, I spent most of my night on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, the wildest ride in the wilderness. Since everyone was waiting for Fantasmic!, I was able to ride seven times straight without getting up!

You'd think I was able to get better shots on the ride having so much practice but my battery was dying.

Closing shot, the new Disney California Adventure is opening in a month!

Those nametags are AWESOME!!! OMG OMG... If any of you is willing or able to hook me up with one, I will be forever grateful. I'd pay you back of course and you will have me as a forever hook up of all things Disneyland during the rest of the year.

If anyone is willing, I'd want "David" and "Endor". I also wouldn't mind a nametag from my life size Ewok plush but I don't wanna be greedy.

Thanks very much!

1. The rides really were that desserted as it was an Annual Passholder party after regular park hours. They were celebrating Fantasmic's 20th anniversary so most everyone was watching that so I went on the ride 7 times in a row without stepping off. My friend did 12 trips.

2. The stretching room is well illuminated enough that you don't need a flash. I waited until I was the last person in the room, sat down dead center, pointed up, and snapped away.

One of the biggest wastes of time was when I went opening day of SWW, and waited for like an hour to get into the merch tent, to get the privilege of being crammed in with hundreds of other people. Then when I went back in the evening, you could walk right in, and almost no one was inside.

The tent "darth's mall" was crazy. They should really organize it better. We were in line for over an hour to check out.

PM sent. :wave

Time for a few more Disneyland photos! I went last night again spur of the moment. It was another annual passholder private event.
