I wonder if this is the same statue that Sideshow has just put up for pre-order for $8500? Looks a bit similiar.

Not sure!

But here's more pics from this past weekend.

I only recently found out about those Monte Cristo bites. Are those Christmastime only, or are they sold in that area year-round?

edit: I don't know why I said "those", it makes it seem like I'm referring to something you didn't say, and makes me look insane.

We live in San Diego, and go to DL pretty often. Went yesterday and found out that now they are actually enforcing the times on the Fastpasses. It's always been that if you got a Fastpass that said 1pm - 2pm, you could use it any time after 1pm. But we tried to ride Star Tours at about 4pm using 2:05-3:05 FP and they said we couldn't use them. Said that they just started actually enforcing the times. Such a bummer.

I shot Disneyland an inquiry and they replied that this week it will open between 11-11:30am and close around 6-6:30pm. Not sure about weekends but I imagine it's pretty similar.

Just noticed this, haven't gone back yet but was planning sometime this week hopefully I can get a chance to see it.

Yeah, I noticed that too on my recent trip to Disneyland. However, I had a few choice "sob" stories at the ready that explained our tardiness and was allowed to pass. But I don't think that will always work.

End of an era.

Looks like they changed the costume for Robin Hood. I have a picture of him with my wife at WDW (at the England section of World Showcase) in 1995 and he looked a lot different. Look at those thunder thighs!

And that Friar Tuck is just plain sad. Not up to Disney Park standards. :horror :horror :horror

Yeah apparently they are enforcing times to get a much closer gauge on usage, to tweak some stuff for the upcoming new FastPass system.

But as long as we didn't see the same guy twice, we didn't have a problem in DLR or WDW coming late. Just use the "oh, really! I didn't know!" You'll need a bigger act for Toy Story Mania in WDW than you will for, say, Philharmagic. Probably because they will be confused that anyone is a big enough sucker to still use a FP there.

I for one am happy that they're starting to enforce the times. What's been the norm at Disneyland is that you have guests (me included) that knew how to abuse the system and took advantage of it.

From that I mean, you can easily spend the day accumulating a number of fastpasses and cashing out at the end of the day.

The problem with this is that if you have a shocking number of people who do that, it skews the standby line in a very insane and negative way.

Let's say that I go into the standby line for Space Mountain when I see the wait is 60 minutes. And let's just say that 30 minutes in, everyone who has a fastpass with a missed window enters the line at once. The standby line that was once 60 minutes is no longer 60 minutes but 90 minutes.

The standby line has always accounted for X amount of fast pass ticket holders. Having people come in at random times makes that time unpredictable and you'll end up with very unhappy guests.

Overall, this will be better for the lines. I'm happy about this decision.

Seconded! I've been a pass holder for many years now and never even realized such abuse of the fast pass was happening. Of course, I only go to DLand from Sept - beginning of May on Sundays, so even getting a fast pass is rare for me (just not necessary) but I'd be pretty annoyed if a fast pass line meant to be 30 minutes turns to an hour or more because people use their passes outside of their designated times.

Does anyone here know if either location is trotting out Doc McStuffins or Sophia at all? My kids are big into both and I heard before that they thought both might be out come spring but I can't find anything exact anywhere.

You mean merchandise or a walk-around character? I haven't heard of neither but I'll keep my ears/eyes open for it now that i'm aware.

Back on the subject of food, Blue Bayou trotted out a new menu today:

In other news, Universal officially announced that everything has been approved for their massive expansion. Wizarding World of Harry Potter breaks ground late summer.

It's well-themed, but I couldn't possibly care less about Harry Potter.

The existence of the island is justified by the Forbidden Journey, as it is a legitimately amazing attraction. But other than that, this new is just blah to me.

Any word as to when the expansion will be open? I'm trying to get my wife to commit to a trip to WDW for our 20th wedding anniversary in late 2015. And the expansion of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter would do MUCH to help furthering those plans. :wink1:

I don't know about the expansion in Orlando. I'm only talking about the Hollywood expansion.

They have been added to the Disney Junior Live show at Hollywood Studios. I imagine they will have walk around characters soon.

Hey, Aero! Haven't seen you here in a while!
