It isn't long before Mickey chases the spot and goes to another world. This time, it's the ballads of Pocahontas, Mulan, and Tangled.

Then we go down under the water... Under the Sea.

And then on a Hawaiian Roller Coaster ride
DL_05232013_314.jpg

Oddly no characters in this segment.

Mickey realizes that... maybe the spot never wanted to be painted after all. And that we shouldn't be trying to change others if they don't want to be changed (gag). This realization wins his recognition with Yensid.

Next time... 24 hours at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.

Okay, time for some pics. We arrived early afternoon on Sunday, May 19 and spent the rest of the day/evening at Downtown Disney and Disney Boardwalk.

This topiary was located in front of Le Cellier Steakhouse in Epcot when we went in 2010 but it was in Downtown Disney this time.

Hulking out in the Lego Store.

Had a beer (Samuel Adams Summer Ale) with the fishies at T-Rex.

Monday, May 20 was spent at Hollywood Studios.

This topiary was outside the entrance.

Prisoner of Jabba the Hutt

Then this green army guy from Toy Story came along and started mocking me.

Tuesday, May 21 was Epcot.

Most of the topiaries were the same ones we saw in 2010 but this was a new one for Monsters University.

Captain Hook and Mr. Smee

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Tick-Tock

On Wednesday we went to Universal Studios to check out the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I'll probably post some pics from there in another section of the forum. Thursday was spent at Magic Kingdom.

With Chip and Dale in Frontierland

My feeble attempt to acquire Excalibur

Some parade shots

More to come...

Magic Kingdom continued...

Outside Gaston's Tavern in New Fantasyland

On the way to Be Our Guest Restaurant

The entrance to the restaurant

Just inside

There are three different rooms to dine in. We booked reservations in the ballroom.

More Magic Kingdom...

Best. Cupcake. Ever.

The rose was located in one of the other dining rooms, the West Wing

Every so often the Beast would come out of his study and walk across the ballroom. You can get your picture taken with him in his study.

A few pics of Disney's Electrical Parade and the fireworks

Star Wars Weekends on Friday, May 24

Posing with the Rancor in Darth's Mall

Some Jawas set up above the cash registers

Boba on stage with Han in Carbonite

Getting James Arnold Taylor's autograph

Chewbacca!

Some random fans that let me take their picture

With Captain Rex

A Random Clone Trooper

R2-MK

With Jedi Micky, Leia Minnie, and R2

Star Wars Weekends continued...

Chip and Dale as Ewoks were pretty funny. One of the Disney attendants was taking our picture with my iPhone, which is in an R2-D2 case, and Chip and Dale walked over to it and started poking around with it. I was able to capture the shenanigans with my girlfriend's camera.

Getting Ashley Eckstein's autograph

Ka-chow!

Posing with a Stormtrooper

and a Clone Trooper

Here's the print I had James Arnold Taylor (Obi-Wan) and Ashley Eckstein (Ahsoka) sign. James also signed a small black and white photo for me that they give to you if you didn't bring your own item to get signed

Awesome pics! I was able to get pics with Darth Maul, Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Chewbacca and Shaak Ti. Going back Friday to get Sam Witwers autograph.

Thanks!

My girlfriend was able to get her picture taken with Vader and Maul after the park opened and I was browsing/waiting in line at Darth's Mall.

I wish we had stayed an extra day as it seems you really need two days to be able to do everything. When we were there in 2010 I missed out on getting my picture taken with Stormtrooper Donald. I was determined to get it this year, but I missed out once again. Two different times I was waiting in line they switched out the characters when I was almost next. Very frustrating.

Have fun Friday!

Great pics, Blue Rogue! I think it's funny to point out the differences in Green Army Men... in California, they literally paint the men's faces so they can emote and say stuff and not be hidden behind a mask.

Seeing Chip and Dale as Ewoks is so cool! I really wish we got those at Disneyland.

also, please link us to wherever you post the Universal stuff. I honestly wouldn't be opposed if you posted them here. It's all related anyhow.

And here begins my 24 hours at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. I don't think I took a picture of every waking thing but I'll try to fill it all in.

First thing we did, we grabbed Fast Passes for Radiator Springs Racers and head on over to Toy Story Midway Mania. On the way, it looked like they were still doing maintenance to World of Color.. 6:20am
DL_05242013_001.jpg

The line for Toy Story Midway Mania, which doesn't open until 7am. It's 6:30am so... it's not too bad since it gets to 45+ minutes usually.

We were debating whether or not to do EVERY RIDE at DCA. So we did the King Triton Carrousel right away. The worker didn't kick anyone off and we were free to ride it again if we wanted. I opted not to.
DL_05242013_005.jpg

Ariel's Undersea Adventure had no wait so that was next
DL_05242013_006.jpg

Next up was Tower of Terror (13 minute wait) and then the Red Car Trolley, and Soarin' Over California (10 minute wait). It's now 8:44am when ran through the nets and bridges of Grizzly Recreational Challenge Trail..
DL_05242013_023.jpg

While the trail is more geared to UP!, Kenai from Brother Bear still has a cave.
DL_05242013_028.jpg

By 9:11am, we had finished Goofy's Sky School
DL_05242013_039.jpg

Silly Symphony Swings were next
DL_05242013_043.jpg

And Mickey's Fun Wheel
DL_05242013_056.jpg

It provided a neat view of the Hollywood Tower Hotel and the Cozy Cone Motel in one shot.

It's now 9:55am as we get on Mater's Junkyard Jamboree and then Luigi's Flying Tires after...
DL_05242013_083.jpg

By 10:50am, our fast passes for Radiator Springs Racers were ready.
DL_05242013_098.jpg

By 11:20am, our other fast pass for California Screamin' was ready to go! And this teen maybe didn't have a pleasant ride...
DL_05242013_110.jpg

He left quite a spill on the floor after the ride. But when we got to the pictures.... he was making a mess DURING the ride!
DL_05242013_111.jpg

11:37am, we head on over Monsters Inc., Mike and Sulley to the Rescue! In Hollywood Land, one exterior was redecorated to be Monsters University.
DL_05242013_114.jpg

Mike and Sulley rotate

I'm with Cohete. It could be slippery slope with Six Flags, etc. But I don't think you'd get any objections to posting USF/IOA (or USH to anyone on the West Coast) pictures here.

It's 12:15am as we head into Disneyland and see a rare sighting of Princess Tiana at the entrance.
DL_05242013_116.jpg

We queue up for Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters and then have lunch at Plaza Inn... mmm fried chicken. Then it was time for our Star Tours fast pass at 2pm, followed by a visit to Innoventions in Tomorrowland. The view from Innoventions is nice. Here's the Matterhorn with a Jedi Training Academy in progress.
DL_05242013_137.jpg

There's rumors of something coming back to these empty tracks. Whether it's TRON or not remains to be seen or heard.
DL_05242013_141.jpg

It's 3:30pm and we Single Rider the Matterhorn Bobsleds and then head to Toon Town to mess about before riding It's A Small World by 4:44pm.
DL_05242013_149.jpg

I took these three shots before falling asleep

It's now 5:20pm and our fast passes for Roger Rabbit Car Toon Spin were ready. They're actually strict about the time you return now.
DL_05242013_160.jpg

It's 6pm by the time we return to DCA. I get a beer at Karl Strauss Brewing Truck and then head to the Carthay for our 6:30pm reservation...

It's now 5:20pm and our fast passes for Roger Rabbit Car Toon Spin were ready. They're actually strict about the time you return now.

Quick tip for anyone who doesn't know (I have ZERO idea how well known this fact is, so this could be obvious to many): Roger Rabbit's FastPasses operate off a different system than the rest of the park. So even if it says you can't get another FP for an hour, you can get one for Roger Rabbit immediately.

6:30pm - Carthay Circle Restaurant reservations.
DL_05242013_176.jpg

Pretty classy place
DL_05242013_183.jpg

We ordered the Fried Biscuits to start... but they're more like nutsacks with creamy centers. hee hee.
DL_05242013_190.jpg

And I don't mean to interrupt but the Pixar Play Parade was happening right at dinner. I stepped out over into the balcony to take pics of the updates, changing Monsters Inc to Monsters University.
DL_05242013_195.jpg

This character is Squishy
DL_05242013_207.jpg

I dunno the name of this two-headed guy
DL_05242013_216.jpg

Art is a weird one... he's walking on his hands and sticking his feet into the air.
