If one is thinking about getting War Machine I would suggest getting Iron Patriot instead for simple reasons: Double rewards thru SS web site, discounted piece as well and Iron Patriot comes with an extra head piece revealing Rhodey face(likeness spot on)...Besides for the same pose I will definitely get with Iron Patriot, as I have, any day of the week.

... And the awful paint job comes at no extra cost.

It is not Sideshow's fault that this was the way it was portrait in the movie...now if you can get someone with painting skills you will even be able to alter the suit's paint job to that of War Machine...and you get all the other stuff to sweeten the deal. :)

:slap Not the colour scheme, the sloppy paint reported on the majority of these.

Painting it a different colour would indeed bypass the issues but also cost a fortune.

What happened to this line? I was really looking forward to seeing the Mark V and VII, but I guess they were scrapped.

Well true that, mine will be arriving next week...I got Iron Man and I did notice slight problems with it...Although I bought it used and the misplacement of the maquette might have something to do with it, but I will tell you once I get Rhodey next week.

The IP had some of the worst paint I've ever seen from sideshow. I prefer the War machine colours personally. I hope this one turns out better for those who ordered. I would have considered buying one if coolprops and the Force Awakens didn't ruin my plans... Never say never though.

I'd hate to see the Mark VII premium format scrapped because of blunders they made recently. Iron Patriot and Mark 42 had such sloppy paint I stayed away from them entirely when I did have interest in both projects. It's hard to believe they would see this as Iron Man products don't sell and cancel this line. Hopefully it's just a case of this statue taking a long time to finish and reveal. A good sculpt with good paint and many collectors will be throwing down $500 for it. If making money is the objective, the Mark VII makes all the sense in the world to make.

I have a xm VII on order. The difference is that I am 99.99% sure it will have no issues. With SSC I would worry about it having issues big time. Thats not good

I have been looking for a 1/4 Scale Mark II and can't believe I almost missed this one. Want to sit him next to my 1/4 Mark 43. Would the scale be correct? And this is my first dipping of toe into this realm...can someone please explain what exactly is a maquette? Assume a single switch on base for chest and eyes lighting?

Maquette is a scaled replica of a movie character.

HT MK43? Both 1:4 but there could be a slight difference in their size being from different companies.

so why is IP priced at $399 and WM with the identical sculpt at $499? makes no sense

Yes..the HT MK43 1/4 figure. He is in a legend studio case and WM would be next to the case so they wouldn't be exactly side by side. I don't care if the scale is off by a little (say WM should be an .5" taller or shorter). So the WM is considered 1/4 scale because it does not say so in the description where the IP specifically states 1/4 scale Maquette.

A maquette is a statue used to visualise a character for a movie etc. Sideshow use the term in a manner that nobody really understands as it hasn't been explained.

Thanks....so is this one true 1/4 scale? Granted it may be a little different than Hot Toys 1/4 scale, but shoot, even some of Hot Toys 1/4 scale are not the same scale.
