Was ANH Leia the victim of a bad paint job?

I skipped Leia's pre-order because I couldn't see Carrie Fischer's likeness no matter how hard I tried. But when I compare the two, the sculpt shares many of Carrie's features. So I'm wondering if the likeness simply disappeared because of the paint.

I don't think it's the paint, just Andy's style of sculpting females. They tend to have what I think is a slight anime/comic book art feel to them with the large eyes and smooth features. Cordelia from the Angel line has this same look.

I passed as well but it will be strange not having ANH Leia in my collection since she's so iconic. Maybe I'll wait and see what the local customizers here can do with her before deciding whether or not to pull the trigger.

Buns are too small, face is too big. Not a good sculpt overall, IMO.

Yep. Something slightly off here. To me it's mainly the large eyes. When the eyes are like that it gives the figure a very toyish, dolly look to me.
Yeah,shutup, I know, they're all dolls but you know what I mean.

I think the face is a little too thin. She was carrying baby fat in ANH.

I'm gonna hunt for her cheaper since my dentist is taking all my money.

Well, next to that pic it's pretty obvious to me at least. There's no issues from my POV.
