I hear you man just on Saturday it was -40 with windchill here. :sick

How the hell people can live with that is beyond me. I would never live anywhere where you get frostbite just from walking outside.

And sorry Boba, I know too many Mexicans :D

You get use to it, the main technique is to never leave your home unless you're dying and need help. :D No seriously I sit home, crank the heat when it happens, its usually like a week or 2 at a time every winter.

Sucks regardless. Summers are great but Edmonton's winters are just lousy.

Where I grew up in Idaho there would be stretches where we were lucky if it got above 0 degrees. It would be blue sky and sunny, but cold as hell. You do get used to it though...everyone had to plug their cars in at night so they would start up in the morning....can't say I miss it....but it sure was beautiful.

I just heard that Vegas got snow too! WOW! I was born and raised there and not once had it ever snowed. Now that I moved 8 years ago, it snows...

It sure did, and my view out of my house (the Red Rock Mts) looks like the Rockies.

:banana

I feel for those who deal with this year after year, but it is a very fun change for us.

It's been really cold for us, (obviously not as cold as it is for you guys up north) but it's still pretty annoying. Hasn't really snowed either, there was some sleet but mainly it's just cold.

I was in Portland over the weekend when the snow hit, and it would be hilarious if it weren't so sad. People there (and I lived there for 15 years) aren't just unfamiliar with how to drive in snow and ice, they actually seem to go out of their way to do the wrong thing, every chance they get. Combine that with their complete lack of infrastructure to clear the roads of snow, and chaos ensues.

Yesterday was... interesting... though, since I got to drive home to Boise through the snowy mountain pass in eastern Oregon, where the afternoon temperature was a balmy 9 degrees fahrenheit.

Fortunately (and through my amazing winter driving skill ;)), we made it home safely.

Oh, and I forgot to mention, I LOVE the snow! (see my Christmas signature? :D)

Snow isnt too bad, lotsa fun driving a rear wheel drive car in thats for sure
It makes you feel a bit like a Ralley Racer sliding it sideways around corners and fishtailing down the straightaways. :D

Once again, we get a tiny bit of snow, and the entire state of Wisconsin forgets how to drive. I'll never understand it. Either Wisconsin residents have the shortest memory ever, or we get more-out-of-state visitors during the winter months than any other state.

I know that feeling and I have a truck to boot so its even worse. I do have some bags of sand back there now to help a little.

Most people don't know how to drive to begin with. It's just more obvious when it rains or snows
