One thing a Friday the 13th movie always guarantees is a great pair of knockers but I can share your pain/embarrassment when seeing them with you Dad. :lol

Yep the movie did me just fine. Could it have been better...yes but so could most movies. A lot of people I knew thought it was going to be some sort of cinema master class and I always went into it with the mind-set that it would, and it ultimately was a great horror popcorn movie, a real 'leave your brain at the door' type of movie.

Yes adding Ash to a sequel would have been great. I wonder if Robert Englund would have come out of retirement (from playing Freddy) to make a sequel?

Well if they would have done the sequel when they planned to, it wouldn't have been that long afterwards which means Robert Englund would most definitely have been involved. The question is after all these years later, would he come back and play Freddy? I get the feeling he would. He always embraced that character.

Yeah if I remember right it was Robert Englund that revealed that the sequel was pretty close to being made was it not? And that it was Sam Raimi that squashed it.

He IS Freddy. There will never be another actor that will do that role justice.

Actually in the "Never Sleep Again" documentary, its said that Raimi wanted a sequel and he wanted Ash to be the hero. But I think the reason a sequel never happened was just because that movie was something special. Its like catching lightning in a bottle. It took 15+ different screenplays and over a decade for Freddy vs Jason to become a reality, so its easy to see why something so exhausting hasnt provided a sequel.

Yeah and I think I read that those 15+ screenplays (I think it was a total of 18) cost $6 million. :horror

I remember Robert Englund saying in an interview that Raimi did indeed want Ash to be the hero of the movie and 'win' so what went wrong after these negotiations between New Line Cinema and Time Warner? Did Raimi who was raking it in from the success of the Spiderman basically refuse to play ball?

I need to pick up His Name Was Jason and Never Sleep Again on DVD asap. I should be ashamed.

I read that Bruce and Sam not only wanted Ash to win but to kill Freddy and Jason for good.

Here are Bruce Campbell's comments on the matter:

“We had that conversation with New Line Cinema,” said Campbell. “And it went something like this, Breep [mimicking telephone ringing] Oh. look it’s New Line Cinema. Hello. ‘Hi, this is New Line Cinema. We’d like to make Ash Vs. Jason Vs. Freddy.’ Great idea, then Ash can kill Jason and Freddy once and for all. Hello? That was it. That was the conversation.”

Campbell continued, “How you gonna kill them? You can’t kill them. That’s why those movies are so stupid. You can grind Jason’s face off with a propeller, with a boat. I’ve seen it with my own two eyes. I forget what number that was, which version of which ******ing remake, sequel bull****. You see his face ground up. It’s the end of the movie. Then, boomp his eyes open, end credits roll.”

“That’s a rip-off mister. So you don’t want that. You don’t want Ash to sort of get in a fistfight. We could only control our character too. We had no control over what the other characters did or said,” added Campbell. “And then you’ve got to split those pesky profits up. Who wants to do that? Not New Line Cinema.”

IMO this would have been an epic conclusion to the original incarnations considering they never made anymore anyway :dunno

That is interesting to read, thanks pal.

I like the idea that Ash 'finishes' them off but the sequel could have seen Ash having to destroy them in Hell as opposed to here on Earth.

Today I spent some time adding some more flat green to my Jason Part 7: New Blood figure to break up the Olive Green of the outfit. In certain lighting the flat green really comes out although I did at one point think that I went a little to far but it was all good in the end. I think I'm pretty much done with him now and I really wanted that 'stepped out of the lake/swamp' look for him and if I feel that the flat green is too bright in a few days time I will simply just dull it down a notch. (I will get some more weapons for him down the road).

Some new pics (The second one is probably the best to view the added flat green paint, although in hand you can see it more. I will need to wait for a Sunny day here in Scotland to get a view full pic of him as it has been Cloudy and heavy Rain here today) -

Again, looks superb mate! That figure was a great base figure from Sideshow to do this too, as are mostly all the Horror pieces they did! Really lining teh colour of the clothing and the weathered mask!

Yep SSC did a good job on these Horror figures and they just need a little TLC and they really shine. The next Sunny day up here and I will get a real good picture of the outfit in all it's glory.

Thanks for your kind words. Much appreciated.

Really need a NB Jason! Yours looks really good. I always loved SSC horror figures but like you say they need some work but not bad figures. Maybe better coloring and not the ugly greys and brown pants they used.

Since we are on the topic of New Blood Jason, I'm bumping up a couple of pics of mine that I posted a while back. Also made a custom trimmer for him back then. Looking at him now, I've decided to revamp his outfit again. I think I can do a much better job now then what I had done back then.

Hey Ron I have seen the video on that version (loved the Brock Lesnar music) as well as the first SSC Jason Part 7 that you did but I never seen the pics on this thread before, I will have to take a look through the thread later on.

Anyways I think that may be the best version that I have seen of him, the other I believe was from the YT reviewer (tee-kay?) but it will be really interesting to see where you go with the outfit this time.

I really studied the outfit on him prior to dying it and I really liked the colour that you used on your SSC version (bluish/grey) but I came to the conclusion (screen grabs) that the suit is definitely green and it looked dark in the night scenes. I then saw a life-size version of him on YT that some guy had made and he has stated that he used Olive Green on his so I went with that for my 1/6 figure.

So are you going to stick with the green-ish/swamp-ish look or back to the blues-ish/grey look?

Either way I'm looking forward to the outcome. :yess:

Thanks Sid!! I also liked the color you used on yours. It looks similar to the green I went with. I have struggled with the color when it comes to this. One had made great Part 7 figures as well but he usually goes the charcoal gray look. So like Myers coveralls, there seems to be different interpretations of the color on screen. At times it looks green, blue and grey. I think once he gets torched towards the end of the film the outfit has more of that burnt greyish look. So again it depends what your going for. I think for mine I will stick with the green but may go slightly darker and more weathered then before. I also want to shred the clothing a little better this time. We'll see what happens but let me just say again, you did a heck of a job on reworking yours and that's the beginning signs of a future full fledge customizer my friend. :)

That is a great point comparing the outfit to the Myers coveralls and just like you say Ron it is all down to personal preference and yeah his outfit definitely becomes burnt looking after he is set on fire. I think the best overall colour would be a green/grey look.

You know some times you look at that outfit on screen and it is literally just hanging off him and ripped to shreds. That would be something to see I guess.

Thanks for the compliments Ron it is very much appreciated and you never say never in this hobby. I really do enjoy blooding up/weathering these horror figures (when needed). I did some weathering/bloodying up to my McFarlane's Daryl Dixon figure yesterday and he looks better now.

That's great and to me, that's the best part of this hobby. I don't care about collecting for value or only following certain artists because of the attitude that others are inferior. We all express ourselves in different ways and this is and should be a place for all of us to share our talents, interests and collection.

Could not say it better myself pal.

Working on a part II Jason unmasked.

Got that head from PapitoMX 2 years ago I think, I believe it was never offered and was sculpted by Sunhoc.

I just painted it and i'm in the middle of applying the hair.

Here's a teaser pic.
