Strange how I rarely see anyone dissing Mark Ruffalo or Chris Evans (or any opinionated male actor) on this forum.

ERW is kind of annoying, but she's a good enough actress and she's hawt, so I don't care.

WestWorld is still bad though. Person Of Interest was the superior Nolan Tech-Show.

That's because nobody cares about Ruffalo, and Evans is Bro-Tier.

Besides, they're actors. Who gives a rat's *** what "they" "think"?

I got a good Ghost in the Shell vibe from that first episode, I hope they try to focus the narrative throughout so it isn't as messy as the last trip around the park. Probably just wishful thinking. :lol

My only issue to be honest was how:

Bernard was in "Palawan", which is an island in my country. They even show our country's flag there so there is no mistake. Currently, that area is close to the nine-dash line from China, and there are some islands close to that that are in contention. Having the fishermen there speak in Mandarin... does that mean part of my country has been annexed by China? :D

I avoid what famous people say because I watch and listen to them as entertainers only. I don't want to think about any of them trying to sway anyone to their way of thinking. I keep my opinions to myself as well on current events.

Both were able to deliver likable performances and create beloved characters; so people ignore the silly things they say in private.

I could care less what ERW or anyone else says to the media (most I disagree with anyways so it would be futile), but I can call out wooden performances and boring characters when I see them. But if its easier for you to just dismiss criticism as "prejudice" and not let your ideas stand up to any sort off scrutiny be my guest.

What does Evan Rachel Woods' "opinions" have to do with anything? Since season 2, she's played her annoying and obnoxious character with all the range of her last name. I couldn't possibly care less about her real life politics, although I'd be willing to bet my life savings on what they are. Not hard to guess. Dolores is a ****** character. She was interesting in the first season, especially the very first episode, but she's been going downhill ever since. By the time I checked out in the season 2 finale she was just a mega**** unstoppable Terminator with no personality. Yawn.

I liked episode two, the Maeve story line and supporting characters are great. Thandie always has a fantastic screen presence. Anyone could be a robot or a copy, or in the matrix or be remembering a false memory. Looks like it will just get crazier storywise.

Yeah so far so good. They're setting up the pieces nicely and pacing is good IMO.

Agreed. The last season had massive faults, but these last two hours have set the ship straight. (for me) People who watched season two should give it a look, doesn't appeal, fair enough.

This show went from being pretentious to "screw it, let's not even bother trying to have things make any kind of sense" in record time.

Like what's her face making the sim glitch out by "over taxing" it by making it do math and the subsequent plan she came up with to make it crash. The writers didn't even bother trying to explain that ****.

It's like those screen rant pitch meetings.

"Ok, but why would that crash the system?"

"Because."

"Well alright then!"

It's a simplification where the base programming cannot deal with square root of -1 so it created a loop of sorts. It's an oversimplification, but it works in my head at least. I think this is a close approximation of what happened:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Undecidable_problem

If there are programmers here, maybe they can poke a hole in that, or prove it right.

TBH this show has never made much sense to me. Maybe its the logic part of my brain I can never ever turn off, but so many of the logistics of running a park like this just don't add up. And it sticks out to me every time.

The biggest thing that completely didn't add up was the concept of the maze. If the maze was just a metaphor for the concept of the robots obtaining consciousness; why bother leaving cryptic clues all over the park? Why did a worker take the time to tattoo a maze on the scalp of a robot? Why did you program a child robot to respond with a cryptic puzzle clue if you threaten the robot programmed to be their parent?

This park really is artificial; so every single thing there from every response that a robot gives down to every last grain of sand in the park is only there because someone took the time to deliberately put it there.

Seen the first 2 episodes.

So are the scenes with Tessa Thompson's character at the board meeting the same timeline as Delores being out and about trying to find the name of the other man? Delores was the one in TT's body though?

I enjoy Maeve's storyline the best. Will be interesting to see her facing off with Delores on the outside (or futureworld of that's where she really is).

Was it her in TT's body or was it Teddy? So after some thought, I think the Maeve story line happens after Dolores. I think by the time Maeve comes into play, Dolores would have set the pieces in place and has taken over the system that's currently governing humans. Next episode might center more on fake TT. I like how the episodes are currently focusing on a character at a time.

I thought Teddy was in the forge?

We know Delores in TT body escaped the park with Bernard's AI, I didn't think she took anyone else.

I have to rewatch season 2, but I think she took their Pokeballs (she took several IIRC).

On right! Yeah I need to rewatch season 2 also.
I'm waiting to see when MIB shows up this season and how he will he incorporated into it.
