Congrats to the 2 lucky collectors that got in on this. I have been away from my computer most of the week doing home improvements so I am about an hour late to the party. :lol :lol

Congrats to the lucky recipient.

I had been suggesting to Sideshow another way of making these rare warehouse finds available to interested account holders. This right place at the right time method and notification through newsletter is bull****. The lottery method which caused so much debate, in my opinion was the best method. They tried it and sure as hell, I landed a PF SSE Mummy, one of only 50. If Sideshow wanted to avoid the lottery debate, they should have held a silent internal lottery including all newsletter subscribers that had bought LOTR PF statues from them in the past. Then as they draw the name, they contact the subscriber EXACTLY like a wait list reservation. If the person doesn't respond 'yes' in 3 days, they move on to the next name drawn. ANYTHING has got to be better than the right place, right time nonsense and I haven't heard any suggestion better than a lottery. If you have one, we'd like to hear it. Until then, I will feel cheated everytime Sideshow 'finds' one of these in their warehouse. They must have morons doing their inventory.

One last point. I have on a few occassions, been notified by Sideshow that they cancelled all wait list reservations for a specific item. Then within a couple of months to a year later, a couple of the cancelled wait list reservation items surface and they are given to a first come recipient. This now makes the third item Sideshow has screwed me and all wait list reservation holders on. My wait list reservation for Aragorn was cancelled over a year ago by Sideshow. Thanks Sideshow, you've pissed off another heavy hitting customer. ********s!!!

I wonder why it is not offered to the waitlist people?

We collectors have been a cranky lot lately...GG Obi-wan statue, PF Fett and now this. :lol

I say let Sideshow post these rare finds on their site without anyone's knowledge, then let people find them by chance while roaming through the site. :monkey3

Wow! Bitter! If Sideshow thinks there are no more of an item left they close the wait list, and probably delete it. Then they find a few of the items in the warehouse; the wait list is already gone, so what do they do? Suggestions?

Well .. .this sucks! One reason I didn't sign up for this before was because I reckon all the Weta stuff had already been spoken for. And now they turn up 2 Strider statues, after they had closed off the waiting lists? If anything, they could go back to the waiting lists they had (which had already been through 2 iterations), and honor that. It sure makes long-standing members a bit worried that Sideshow may drop the ball again if this new system doesn't work out, in favor for a newer updated system!

Perhaps there is renewed hope for me through this system to find my own set of Stone Trolls, Xmen vs Sentinel Exclusive, Wolverine vs Sabretooth among other things . . .

Personally, I like it when they just add it to the newsletter on Thursday night. Everybody knows that they need to be online Thursday nights refreshing their newsletter page to be the first to read it and possibly see some in stock specials. I have picked up one or two out of stock items through the newsletter in the past and it worked fine for me! That not only encourages people to read the weekly newsletter in a timely fashion, it doesn't punish people whose e-mails are held back by their service providers. Today, I did just happen to be sitting around at home on my laptop and I didn't receive mine until it was far too late. I think that the whole debate that led to the online publication of the newsletter applies here just as much. A mass e-mail just won't reach everybody at the same time and some will get an unfair advantage. When the info is posted in the newsletter, everybody gets their shot at the same time. I much prefer that method.

Really, why does everything have to be such a conspiracy!? They obviously thought they had sold through them - or given them away - so what's the harm in a first come, first serve scenario?!

Thanks Sideshow, you could have otherwise just kept this a secret and allowed your employees to grab them and make a killing.

:clap :clap :clap

Or they could have put them up as second chance items in the newsletter tomorrow.

That way, if anybody missed out, it would have been their own fault for not reading the newsletter fast enough, rather than being the fault of their internet service provider for not delivering the mail faster than the other guy.

Fair enough I suppose, I guess I have never had a problem with that (it is easy sometimes to forget that others do), and I use Hotmail.

I still stand by my statement that it is noble for Sideshow to let collectors at these; they certainly didn't have to, and that's true no matter what method.

Unfortunately Tom, some would still complain that there is still an unfair advantage for anyone not on dial-up or who live close to the servers. There is no method know to mankind that will be accepted as fair by every single person on Earth!

Congrats Tristam, and the other person lucky enough to snag one. You guys didn't split the Mega Millions jackpot as well did you?

:D

Nice find. Anyone complaining and moaning over it, is just sour grapes.

I could've grabbed one of these. When the email went out about this, I was constantly checking my Hotmail account for a reply to an email I sent earlier. I was at work at the time and had to run down the hall to ask a question about something. When I got back to my desk, I refreshed my Hotmail and saw the email, but it was too late. :monkey2

Exactly! Some people really need to just take a freaking midal and get over things.

Do a raffle? Didn't that get *****ed about by me and lots of others and then we have someone now wanting it. Good GOD! Can't have your cake and eat it too.

Rad- Dropped the ball? Really? Because you didn't find out. People found out and got them. There where two and unless you happen to be at your PC when it happens you most likely would miss out.

I'm afraid Sideshow is switching the Second Chance offers from the newsletter to the Express Updates. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing -- only the Express Updates aren't stored on our Newsletter Account anymore, so they're hard to come by if your e-mail server fails you.

I use Yahoo, but it's usually very fast. This time... it took half an hour to digest the e-mail. Thanks for nothing, Yahoo.

I'd still love to see some of those Second Chances in the newsletter, though, especially if the quantities are this low. That way, I know when and what to refresh Thursday evenings until it comes up, and snag a piece as soon as it loads. The chances would be that much better -- that's how I snagged a UHSS bust last fall, after all.

It would seem to be the more fair method, but I am almost certain we would have many an EU member complain about the time of the newsletter's release. I know you wouldn't be in that camp (based on your UHSS purchase), but some most certainly would.

Well, it wouldn't have made a difference for me as I was on the freeway when the email was sent out. :monkey2

Ah well.

Well, if you want to stay up until 3 AM to read the newsletter, you have to be rewarded somehow. :D

They cancelled all waitlist reservations saying they don't expect any to return to stock. Meanwhile, they had two in stock to offer up today. My reservation was cancelled by SS about a year ago. I may not have been recalled for one but someone would have.
