Nothing confirmed by PJ himself. The reason I think its true is I had seen it enough places that I believed it.

I'm with the majority I think in stating that Lurtz served a very cool purpose...brought closure to FOTR, gave the remainder of the Fellowship something to fight for, and announced Aragorn as a serious bad a$$! The death scene with Boromir NEEDED the battle to bring it home...I personally think PJ did a great job bringing it all home!

I agree. Like it or not, Lurtz was a very memorable character in a very memorable scene. And personally speaking, I couldn't care less whether or not he was 'book accurate'. The book to movie adaptation that is 100% accurate doesn't exist, and never will. All I know is his appearance at the end of FOTR made a great movie even better. :)

:exactly:

Lurtz was indeed a very memorable character.
Loving this PF,as if it comes straight out of the movie. One of Sideshow's finest.
To me it belongs in the category of the greatest statues ever created conceptual-wise.:)

Got confirmation from Tim @ Weta that this piece (Rivendell) will be at SDCC for us to drool over. :yess: :hi5:

Man that is great news, thanks for letting us know Wetanut.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how it turned out.

I also have been wondering just how big it ended up.

Guess SDCC will have all the answers.

This may very well be a great SDCC for us LOTR collectors! :yess:

Can we assume the great mystery of 2011 (the price) will also be revealed then as well?

Also did SDCC ever correct the sell out issue with tickets, or was there no issue and the event did sell out that quickly.

My sentiments exactly. I'll reserve my excitement until I know the cost.

That's never put you off before ;)

I never said the cost [whatever that may be] would keep me from ordering this. If the price range is in the vicinity I expect it to be, that will certainly dampen my excitement somewhat....but it won't stop me from ordering it. :wink1:

Cost will definitely be the defining factor for me, as I'm sure the piece itself will be amazing, regardless.

Since Weta started with this line I've only picked-up the Argonath which is amazing & definately would like this Rivendell and maybe the Bag End. Good times for LOTR collectors.

Its gonna be an eye popping piece for sure. Comic-Con is gonna be awesome to see it in person.

Can't wait to see what they have come up with. I think we are all going to be amazed. My main concern now isn't the price but rather the space for it. Looks like this will be slightly bigger than the Mine of Moria environment. :gah:
