Re: WGP's Doctor Who (printed pics posted!)

Thanks, man! Is it taller than the HT Truetype bodies?

Here he is next to the DX 10 T-800 which is on a taller base.

Just curious what would be the best base body for a seventh doctor seeing as how he is very short especially compared to other incarnations of the doctor?

Re: WGP's Doctor Who (printed pics posted!)

Darn, I was hoping to base my custom on his appearance in Invasion Of Time as that had my favorite look for him. His hair differed?

The shortest one I'm aware of without modding is Medicom. My older (2006 I think) Jack Sparrow is noticably shorter than the newer Mad Hatter figures, but the older Medicom body is afwul imho. The only one smaller than that is Obitsu, but you'd have still have to mod that one a bit and its super thin.

This site may help. You'll have to use the drop down menu for each company.

The Hot Toys Slim body is short, but out of production as a true-type for a while so is expensive unless you get one (like Bespin Luke Skywalker) from a current release loose.

There is a short Dragon body I have a few for a future Sontarans but I am at work and don't remember the figures name. He's blond. Anyone?

The slim true type is getting a new release, they just went up for pre-order.

Would this head work for his Season 15 appearance?

Being nerdy, and I has him made being ultra nerdy, I don't think he would work for even a S17 Tom just one season earlier without a few tweaks (more weight, hair change) if you were being really an-al like I am, but ultimately it comes down to however you feel. It is still Tom and Obsolete Mans paint job is fantastic!

I tried to take a couple of clearer shots of the head so you could see all of the amazing detail in the sculpt. Nothing seems to have been lost from the digital render to the actual cast.

Re: WGP's Doctor Who (printed pics posted!)

I read that Tom was ill during season 18 hence the weight loss and looking older, what was actually wrong with him?

Re: WGP's Doctor Who (printed pics posted!)

He had alcohol 'issues' from what I remember. They sent him to rehab at one point.

Re: WGP's Doctor Who (printed pics posted!)

Mini-updates

I had to send a female figure body to the caster so he could drill the hole in the Sarah Jane head before casting so I ordered it and had it sent off last week.

I am having all the K-9 parts sent to me to see what the frak the problem is with getting him finished. I want to get him off the "cursed" list.

The Ainley "Master" head was assigned to a sculptor today so S18 Tom has a baddie to fight (as will everyone who had customs of Docs 6 and 7!), so he is the first official new head commission of 2013.
:fest:fireworks We will be making his Traken costume, but he can also of course just use a suit. We will also be making his TCE.

More announcements soon.

Re: WGP's Doctor Who (printed pics posted!)

Do you know if the rest of the Tom heads have shipped out yet?

Re: WGP's Doctor Who (printed pics posted!)

The Tom HS showed up today and he is gorgeous. :loveHe looks even better than the picture show. The wait for Sarah is now going to be even harder!

Tom was not sent to rehab. He was an admitted heavy social drinker, but not a drunk. He actually had an illness that affected his metabolism and he suddenly dropped weight right as season 18 started, but Tom didn't want to see a doctor. Then producer John Nathan Turner finally insisted Tom go and they diagnosed his problem and treated it. Turner also stated that the illness caused the natural curl in Tom's hair to fall out; at one point they had to use hair rollers to curl it more (which is why his hair looks different around the time Meglos was filmed). He looked healthier as the season ended. I believe it was a thyroid problem.

Re: WGP's Doctor Who (printed pics posted!)

In the boxes I have been getting from our casters this week I got a box with half of K-9 in it. This is the first time I have seen him live and am pretty excited with him. The reason it has been sent to me is to find out WTH has been taking so long (involving the sanding of the 3D build lines) and seeing how the parts fit, what needs to be re-made thicker out of the small pieces, etc).

Hope to get the rest of him by Friday.
