Re: WGP's Doctor Who (printed pics posted!)

In the boxes I have been getting from our casters this week I got a box with half of K-9 in it. This is the first time I have seen him live and am pretty excited with him. The reason it has been sent to me is to find out WTH has been taking so long (involving the sanding of the 3D build lines) and seeing how the parts fit, what needs to be re-made thicker out of the small pieces, etc).

Hope to get the rest of him by Friday.

"K9, what have they done to you?"

Re: WGP's Doctor Who (printed pics posted!)

Tom was not sent to rehab. He was an admitted heavy social drinker, but not a drunk. He actually had an illness that affected his metabolism and he suddenly dropped weight right as season 18 started, but Tom didn't want to see a doctor. Then producer John Nathan Turner finally insisted Tom go and they diagnosed his problem and treated it. Turner also stated that the illness caused the natural curl in Tom's hair to fall out; at one point they had to use hair rollers to curl it more (which is why his hair looks different around the time Meglos was filmed). He looked healthier as the season ended. I believe it was a thyroid problem.

Thats something I'd not heard before, but If you say so. :)

Nice! :clap Lots of life in the eyes.

Good job of showing off all the wonderful wrinkles and detail in that sculpt. Can't wait to see your finished figure.

Just a few brief updates- our caster Lonnie has recieved the TTL body he asked me to send him to use to drill the neck hole in Sarah Jane. He does have a lot of projects to cast for us but thats what was holding SJ, so hopefully SOON!

Lots of K-9 action going on behind the scenes here. The Basic vanilla version has been sent to Sean in the UK to sand down more. Meanwhile, a second version has been sent to an electronics expert to see how much he can pack in there for our deluxe electronic version. Due to less to do on it, the Basic version will likely be available quite a bit earlier.

Lastly, I heard back from the very talented seamstress doing the Romana DESTINY outfit who has apologized for the delay saying she aims to finish her up soon, and confirmed what I had pretty much suspected for awhile now- 1:6 scale has kicked her *** too much and the initial orders we take on the Romana costumes will be the only ones we make, as this scale takes her too long to do. She will be coming up with her quote soon. Stay tuned!

Do you have the final cost for Sarah yet? As soon as possible I'd like to get her paid for so there be no delays when she becomes available.

Glad to hear that K-9 is finally moving along too. :yess:

Thanks for asking. No. The head will be done months before the costume will (sigh). I would be surprised if the head isn't available within a month. Probably sooner. The head will be $60.

The seamstress for Sarah has not started her yet, though she was supposed to last year (a different one than the Romana outfit). First the delay was us trying to get the fabric printed material correct which took me a few months and a few tries to learn, but now the delay is all her. I will be writing her for an estimated start ETA soon (again), as she had already been paid half up front several months ago.

Once the costume is done she will give us a quote. I am thinking the costume itself will be $125-$150. Then there will be the accessories that come with it and a special stand for her made by Corrose.

As always, I advise to buy the head first to keep the overall cost spread out, plus it gives you time to have it painted by whomever you want. :)

I just wanted to give props to Rick and Sean from WGP. I'm new to the customizing game and they've been great to help me. Between having custom outfits done in 2 weeks and custom heads just as fast, its a great crew. WGP has also been good enough to give me advice on the correct bodies to use and goo, trustworthy people to paint. That means a lot to have a good resource for that. I guarantee that they gave definitely earned my business and ill be buying every last one of they're upcoming Doctor Who projects.

Thanks for the info. :D The Sarah HS is definately the first thing on my list- I can wait for everything else. Is shipping $7 for her?

Has your Romana seamtress ever mentioned the cause of her problems? I know that scale is tough to sew on a machine (I do everything by hand because of that) and patterns are harder to draft. I'm a member of a ball-jointed doll community that has a large number of of seamtresses who take comissions They do insanely complicated worked on figures ranging from 6.5 cm to 60 cm and everything in between including 1/6th. If it would help her with finishing up what the Romana outfits she has left, I'd be happy to ask around the forum to see what solutions might be available and pass them along- the members of Den of Angels would certainly know how to help.
