Re: WGP's Classic Star Trek (being cast now)

Here are a couple of quick images for you to see.
AND yes I know this is the wrong uniform for this Kirk but it is all I have until I get the correct one. LOL. He is on a TT Narrow shoulder body.

Re: WGP's Classic Star Trek (being cast now)

^Nice! :clap

I wonder how the Kirk headsculpt would look like with Spenser's uniform..?

kirktunicoct2012.jpg

If the headsculpts are the same size I think it will look nice!

Re: WGP's Classic Star Trek (being cast now)

yeah I think this sculpt will look great on Spencers uniform. I hope to do that eventually.

Re: WGP's Classic Star Trek (being cast now)

The Kirk headsculpt looks great but it looks tiny on that TT body. Maybe it's the photos. Hopefully they won't turn out looking like pinheads.

Re: WGP's Classic Star Trek (being cast now)

I think it is just the pics and the lack of color to the head right now. In person it looks fine. I hope to start painting this weekend.

Re: WGP's Classic Star Trek (being cast now)

WST,
Any Kirk scuplts Left?
If there are, same paypal process as the Indy sculpts?
Thanks!

Re: WGP's Classic Star Trek (being cast now)

Just want to say that I got BA Kirk, Rand, and Scotty in the mail a couple days ago - THANK YOU, WGP, for making these happen!!! :clap :blissy

I am 110% happy with them, just blown away by the likenesses. For some reason, Rand in particular caught me off guard - maybe I just wasn't paying attention as closely with her as I was the others, but her likeness is awesome, I just sat and stared at it for quite a few minutes. Scotty's corrected neck looks fantastic and this is THE best Shatner likeness in 1/6 form done to date.

I'm hoping to get some of my own pics up, but this week/weekend is just insanely busy :monkey4 so, hopefully soon on those. I'm gonna be poor until after the holidays, so I won't be able to look into getting these heads professionally painted until then, much less bashing costumes. Is WGP still pursuing costuming for the TOS gang (the proposed boots looked AWESOME)? I know Spenser is doing some formidable work, but, like I said, I won't be in a position financially to go after outfits for a couple months... :monkey2

Having said that, I'm looking forward to being able to scoop up Sexpot Kirk and Sulu, as well as the space clipboard at that time. Oh, and how are the neural parasite coming along? "Parasite on Spock's butt", heh!

Really hoping WGP will be committed to rounding out the TOS crew in 2013. Also really, really want that Salt vampire that was teased at (that character has been dangled in front of Trek collectors' noses so many times, only to be snatched away by cancellations), as well as Kirk's command chair (or maybe even the chair with the helm console combo?? They were sort of an integrated unit on the bridge...). Good lord, I'm over-reaching now, but as an old-school Trek fan, I am just WAY too excited by all of this goodness!!! Nice work!

Re: WGP's Classic Star Trek (being cast now)

Thanks for the compliments! Can't wait to see everyones pics!!!

Sorry for the delay. We really wanted to get these heads out first first. We will be getting the BA Kirk and Parasites cast in Jan.

Really hoping WGP will be committed to rounding out the TOS crew in 2013!

We want to. We are always taking names on the interest lists for the classic crew so make sure to PM and let us know who you want us to make and let us add you to their list. We need 16 people per character for them to be a go! I know I need to get caught up from a few pages back. :monkey3

Still doing classic uniforms? !

Our strength is heads so we we will always be willing to make heads as long we we have enough people interested whether we make costumes or not.

Our strength is unfortunately NOT costumes (laugh). We are too backed up on previous commitements for other costumes. We were considering Trek depending on how fast our seamstresses/tailors got those projects done because it makes sense, but the seamstresses' we have are just too slow. Since we already have the boots sculpted we can still put those out if there's demand/interest.

On the flip side, we try out new talent all the time. Our availability can always turn on a dime so who knows farther down the road?

Also really, really want that Salt vampire that was teased at (that character has been dangled in front of Trek collectors' noses so many times, only to be snatched away by cancellations).

I LOOOOOVE the Salt Vamp. It was delayed because of the lack of tailor availability. At times we are looking really good because we have had five tailors, but then the new ones we were trying always end up not working because they can't grasp 1:6 and we are back down to two or three. Thats what happened here. I want to get it out for 2013, but don't look for any updates about it on the forum. I want to just show when it is completed and say "here it is and guess what, it is available now!"

To be cool about it I will offer it to the loyal customers who have bought our Trek heads and been so patient with us as a thank you first through PM since they will be limited and then if there are any left I will offer them on the forum (when we get there).

...as well as Kirk's command chair (or maybe even the chair with the helm console combo?? They were sort of an integrated unit on the bridge...). Good lord, I'm over-reaching now, but as an old-school Trek fan, I am just WAY too excited by all of this goodness!!! Nice work!

We do have the chair sculpted. We didn't want to print the chair then have other customizers offer theirs too and not sell any because that is one hell of an expensive investment for us to go and do and not have people follow through on. Being a big prop it wasn't something we neccessarily needed 16 people interested on.

To be smarter in our planning and to help get larger projects done with less worry (overall-not just with Trek), we have decided to just ask for deposits on some of the bigger projects we want to do when we do them, so in 2013 we may do this for the captains chair and get it produced. We will see if there is still interest when we are ready.

For 2013 the plans for are to focus on more heads. First and foremost we will continue to dedicate ourselves to the lines we have already begun as characters get their 16 interested like Original Trek and Classic Galactica. We don't plan on stopping those. As their current heads get released and shown around that will drive the interest in their other characters up and help them get made.

Nice to know the Trek sculpts seem to be arriving in the states.

Where is that uniform from?

Re: WGP's Classic Star Trek (being cast now)

The Kirk uniform is from SithLordMacGyver (?) it's more like the 3rd season uniforms. The one Spock is wearing is is from a D-Art studios. I'm also looking at the uniforms from Spenser.

Re: WGP's Classic Star Trek (being cast now)

Far be it from me to criticize painting too much as I can't get a decent skintone mixed, but the "eyeliner" look seems to detract from the sculpt. Otherwise it looks good.

Re: WGP's Classic Star Trek (being cast now)

Yeah I am going to go back over that and lighten it up some. I didnt notice how dark it was until I took the pics.

Here he is after a touch up around the eyes.

Re: WGP's Classic Star Trek (being cast now)

Not a lot of time here, so a few quick remarks:

Since we already have the boots sculpted we can still put those out if there's demand/interest.

Want. Those. Boots.

The ones you have sculpted looks awesome and I'd want several pairs for various figures. There must be other who feel the same? C'mon guys? For my part, I still think "beets" (boot/feet) are the way to go, to get that nice, tight-to-the-calf look. Anyone else have thoughts?

For that matter, the tricorder you have sculpted would rock as well!

Okay, as someone who hade pre-purchased several Trek heads from day one (a-hem! :wink1:), I love this idea, but I would ask that you pm these "loyal customers" a bit in advance of its anticipated release, so funds could be budgeted accordingly?

Deposit is the way to go, I'd be down for that when the time comes. Let's try to make this one happen! Anyone else?

-Rick :)

This being the case, for 1st/2nd quarter 2013 might I humbly suggest something like:

Wave 3 (the gents) - Spock, McCoy, Chekov
Wave 4 (the ladies) - Uhura, Chapel,...possibly Marlena Moreau or Female Romulan Commander for a third?

That gives us the core crew and maybe you could look to do a mix of some TNG core characters and TOS aliens in later in 2013?
