All this talk back and forth about drilling has me a bit confused. They are gonna be drilled right? As in when I get it I can plop it right on the TT-19 body like I can with any other HT head.. Cuz I don't know anything about drilling and measuring necks and all that.

Re: WGP's RAIDERS Jones- at casters now!

I doubt you will be able to just put it on a TTM-19 without adding your own neck adapter. Figures with necks sculpted on can be drilled to fit directly on a neck adapter for that purpose (thought they often require some additional mods and maybe gluing to stay in place for good). With the TTM-19, you have to fit the head on a ball joint, so just drilling probably wouldn't work very well. Instead, you need that little rubber adapter that comes with other neckless heads. So, this head should be drilled for that adapter. But taking that adapter out and putting it in another head is not very difficult.

Re: WGP's RAIDERS Jones- at casters now!

Actually, my Miami serial killer sculpt is drilled with a hole just big enough to fit around the TTM19, then another hole drilled deeper just large enough to fit the barbell that would otherwise go into the plug. Works perfectly!

Yep. Casters will drill the hole for the neck peg and
neck so they fit correctly(Peg tight in the hole, neck hole fits neck
perfectly)then when they make the mold it will be almost exact.

My little company has done that before using Lonnie(known caster
and mold maker) and he basically says, molds can be made to
fit any body on the market.

So no need Karma to worry about trying to get the little ring out of
another HT head to make it work on the indy.

Also like another person said, the neo-earth magnets work very well.
I've done that and its pretty simple. Glue one to the neck peg and then stacking
them inside the head to desired height. They come in 1mm thickness
so it works well.

But for sure, no one should worry about it fitting or not fitting.
Once a master is drilled to perfection and the mold is made of
that, everything will fit just fine.

Oh ok. I think I know what your talking about. The smooth round part inside a neckless that fits directly over the barbell joint. That part actaully need to be taken out of another head and placed into this one. Ok, I'm sure I can do that. I was just talking about drilling. I've never done that and I don't really wanna. :lol

Hmm, these magnets sound like a good idea. Might have to try it. I'll have to see when I get the head in hand.

Re: WGP's RAIDERS Jones- at casters now!

That's good to hear that simply drilling the head the right way will work. But I'm guessing the guy you get to paint the heads will have to attempt to do that for you, and it would have to be someone with some major dremeling experience because the fit would have to be exactly right for that to work. With the heads with necks it isn't such a huge deal because you can just glue it if it is slightly too big.

:goodpost::exactly:

Yes, completely forgot about the fact there is no neck on this, one slip of the dremmel and bye bye Indy.

I think it looks good, my first reaction I have to admit was.."The hat is too small".

How is everything coming along? I love the little progress updates that shows all the love and attention to detail that this is getting. :)

Hey Rory, how you doing? Still working on movie modeling and
special effects?

For everyone else: actually, I think some are misunderstanding how
this will work. The mold will have a hole already and
its very easy to make adjustments on the casted head with the dremel
buy using a small sanding wheel or grinding stone wheel
without much chance of messing it up. I'm sure that a few
of us who do it all the time can let you know which size
wheels(bits) to use for your desired results.

I suggest people get it with the standard sized hole
for the HT body and make adjustments from there
if they want. People are over thinking this whole
thing and making things to worry about that they
dont really need to worry about...:rotfl

Painters wont really need to make many adjustments
for them either. All each person needs to do is have the
body they want to use and make sure the head fits before
sending it off to the painter. It will already be very close if
not exact, so please people, dont stress about it...

It will be okay..we'll walk you through if you need help, we promise....::1-1:

See that's the thing, I don't own a dremmel. :dunno

Re: WGP's RAIDERS Jones- at casters now!

If you're going to start doing customs, I would seriously consider investing in one.

I am.

Just trying to figure out which one to go for. The 3000 Variable Speed one looks nice, comes with a lot of attachment for about $70.

Re: WGP's RAIDERS Jones- at casters now!

Dremels are OK, but if you want versatility and greater control, I would get a flex-shaft motor tool. They are a lot more expensive, but you have complete control of speed and also direction of turn. They most used by jewelers and wood carvers.
