Genesis: Land of Confusion

With no irony, this is such a badass song.

I mean, the lyrics are stupid and dated as hell ("we're not just making promises" etc), but somehow the song manages to still rock surprisingly hard.

And the video, forget it. I try to keep my site spamming to a minimum, but this is on point. From my groundbreaking review of the movie "Fortress":

" I'm sure there were a lot of things I was afraid of as a kid, but there are two things that vividly stick with me. That shot of the duck mask guy, and when Ronald Reagan's head comes out of the water in the video for "Land of Confusion" by Genesis.

The creepiness can be found at 3:30 in. Well, the creepiness can be found in the entire video, but that part was traumatizing to me as a kid. I'd look away every time it was on. I'm much better now that I've grown up - now when I watch it, I'm only a little scared of that part."

I phrase that description humorously (or attempt to, anyway) - but I can not underestimate how much that part absolutely terrified the **** out of me as a kid. Like, not falling asleep then nightmares scared.

Least metal song ever, but I enjoy the **** out of it: :lol

I heard it come on the top 40 hits of 1982 this week on XM Radio earlier, and it has a historical distinction. It fell from being number 6 one week, to 40 something the next week. A feat only matched by Taylor Swift a few years ago. Hats off to you, Air Supply.
