I read a lot of true crime stuff. Most of it online but occasionally I pick up a book. Right now I am reading Smoke, Mirrors and Murder by Ann Rule. I check out the In Cold Blog and read stuff by Steve Huff who has a true crime blog

Do you guys really read more than one book at a time (except for school or work related)??? I could never do that! Once I'm "in" a book, I want to finish it...

I'm currently reading Mu Shi Shi volume 3; after that the new Death Note novel followed by Death Note 13 and Blood+ volume 1.

I do read more than one book at a time every so often. Most of the time I start a book and go with it but there are just times where I'll start one and then end up starting another one shortly after.

I usually have 4-5 books in various states of being read. Depends on the mood I'm in which book I'll foray into at any given time. So many gets boring at a certain point and I just put them away for a bit and pick up another to get my reading juices flowing again. Then I'll revisit the put away books with a fresh set of eyes. Right now on my bedstand are:

Book of Lost Tales
Empire of Ivory (the newest -4th - book in the Tremeraire series by Novik)
Children of Hurin
History of the Pelopponesian Wars (a real - dense ugh! - history)
Kindness of Strangers (bio on Tennessee Williams)
1066 and All That

March Issue of Playboy

and

History of the Lord of the Rings.

But not both at the same time.

"Golem" by Gustav Meyrink as well as Masamune Shirow's "Ghost in the Shell Human Error Processor"

Finially had a chance to break it open. Great book, hope to finish it within a couple of days.

I'm about to re-read "The Name of the Wind" by Patrick Rothfuss in preparation for the second volume's being released in April. I read a ton of "high fantasy" and the first book of this planned trilogy is the best debut I've read in ages. Can't recommend it highly enough.

I just finished reading the second Darth Bane novel and am now reading "Death Star."

Depends - I may read one nonfiction and one fiction at the same time as a comic book collection. Depends on my mood as to which I pick up.

I never read more than one fiction at a time.

Ok, that I can understand... I used to read comic books in the middle of reading fiction, while having to read non-fiction or school books in my school days, so I guess I've done the same.

I guess I've never really had that problem, I just start reading and don't stop until I'm finished... never really thought about it before; now if the book turns out to be super boring (usually pretty rare for me) I just put it down and never seem to pick it up again, so I don't really count that. :D

how's death star so far?

I'm only a few chapters in so far, so not a lot really happening yet, mostly charactor setup. There are a lot of charactors with several different threads going, so many in fact that there is a page in the beginning of the book listing the major players so you can keep track of them. I am sure they are all going to come together eventually, and the story will paly out on the Death Star.

Vader doesn;t show up until chapter 7, but I like how they are handleing him. A lot of description of his constant pain, and meditating in his hyperbaric chamber etc. His disdain for Tarkin and his recent promotion to Grand Moff is interesting.

What I really am enjoying is the way they are describing the Rebellion as a bunch terrorists practically. Of course a lot is being written from the Empire's point of view, so they are made out to be the bad buys for the most part. Quite a different take than from ANH and the rest of the original trilogy.

It seems to be well written and interesting though. I'll let you know more as I get further into it.

I just finished reading Patrick Culhane's Black Hats. It's a really awesome book. It's takes a little fact, and blends it with a little fiction so that an aging Wyatt Earp heads to New York City where Bat Masterson is writing a sprots column to help out Doc Holliday's son with some trouble he's having with a young gangster by the name of Alphonse Capone.

It really feels like a combination of the classic old west movies combined with the classic prohibition era gangster movies. So its more like those movies than reality. I think its a really great "what if" type story.

Now I'm off to read Revelation. :rock
