Within Europe that puts us around the most expensive - with the Netherlands the most expensive place to fill up.

True, but you guys all drive fuel economical cars. When I was in Europe earlier this month I was amazed by the amount of small cars everywhere. BTW, I LOVE the Smart Car! That thing is soo tiny and funny looking. It looks like a golf cart! When we were in Rome, it seemed like all the cars we hatchbacks. Just a little different from the U.S. where we have our huge SUV's. Seriously, if you take fuel economy into account, the cost of driving probably isn't that different.

Oh, I want to add that gas is up to $3.00/gal. here in Charlotte, NC.

Damn, they just showed places on the local news that had $3.99, $4.99, and as high as $5.99!!!

Many gas stations here are dry.

Here in Spain, 1 euro per litre......

20% more than January.. and will goes up to the 35% in the nexts weeks.

I saw that too el. Amazing the south is paying $6+ a gal. The station I go to in Chehalis, WA just went up overnight from $2.79 to $3.07 a gal. which is still less expensive than the shell station across the street at $3.15 a gal.

My Caddy CTS has sat in the garage for almost a week now with a full tank of gas. The Grand Prix SE has been used all week, but not traveling more than 30 miles a day, and I still have 1/4 tank left. I've been riding my bike to the gym too which is an 18 mile round trip.

I'm currently looking at scooters and small bikes (motorcycle's) and have been researching the smart-two car. Not much we can do with all five of us in one of those, but it would be good for around the town stuff.

I know that will help, but, unfortunately, the gas problem won't stop there. It's only a matter of time before it starts affecting everything else (groceries, etc.).

You might have guessed I pass about 30 gas stations on my long commute ~ Tonight when I went out I swear I passed 1 car in possibly 10 of the stations I passed. And I would swear the roads and stores seemed a little empty

It sure does seem that way even in the small town I live in. Gas at the station I go to just went up again from the $3.07 I posted earlier to $3.19 tonight.

Hi Everyone,

$3.69 per Gallon here in NYC. Filled up this morning. Paid with my credit card for the first time. LOL. As if Auto Insurance isn't bad enough. Such as life. The car needs Gas to operate so I really don't have a choice.

I just got back from Camping in NY state and gas was $3.69!!!
I hated to have to fill up to head home.

In Canada, right now where *I* live, because I know Canada's pretty wide and prices range A *LOT* in this country... the spike yesterday I saw gas at was, when converted to US dollars per gallon is about $4.30 USD per gallon.

That's $1.33.9 CAD for a litre, and a litre is just about one quarter of a gallon.

Keeping in mind,this is the high end of the spike on sunday of the Labour Day long weekend. Prices will drop back hopefully to a more reasonable (relatively speaking) $1.05 CAD per litre (3.34 USD per gallon).

Well.. it's gone up to £4.20 a gallon. (or around $7.72)
