What draws you to see a movie?

I tend to be a genre guy. Does not matter who is making the film or who is in it. If it's a genre I really don't care for then I am not going. However I do enjoy most genres so the trailer does play a little bit into the equation.

I go to see a movie that isn't related to a thread started by Nova. Now that this topic has been made, I'll never be able to see another movie again.

193 threads made, more than half are polls. That's got to be a record.

I like to gauge peoples opinions. All of my polls are worthwhile questions :wink1:

Voted the genre option. I would say most of the films I've seen at the cinema would be sci-fi and fantasy - the stuff most worthwhile seeing on the big screen. Anything else I can wait to see at home.

agreed. I always say this to my wife... "It will be a good rental" which is basically anything not sci-fi/fantasy. The exceptions are certain action and comedy movies that don't look stupid (about 1% of releases) and some pixar movies.

A nice set of bewbs.

He's someone that is very worried what others think. :dunno

I'm gonna see new "Riddick". Only saw few official stills and never saw the trailer :wave
Just cuz I like this franchise too much to spoil the watch.

P.S. very few nerds on this forum.

If you've seen Pitch Black then you've already seen Riddick. :wave

I would say it's a mix of all of those elements.

I like certain genres more than others, yes, but I don't run out to see all of the fantasy, sci-fi, and action films made. As mentioned above, I'd be seeing a ton of garbage. I see trailers sometimes and if one grabs my attention with an interesting story concept without revealing the whole movie and having good production values, I'm more likely to pay to see it in theaters. If it shows off too much or looks corny and bad, I might rent it from Redbox or stream it on Netflix if I don't skip it altogether.

As for movies with directors, writers, and actors? I will usually be drawn to movies that don't pass my standard of quality or if they're from a genre I don't much care for if the talent behind it has a good track record. The only celebrity so far I'd run out to see every film for is Christopher Nolan. I like many other directors, but every other director has made a movie I either disliked or hated. There are actors I like but I'm more likely to rent something with someone I like in it blindly rather than paying to go see them in the theater.

Most people realize its a combination of actors, producers, genres, etc...

Trying to oversimplify this into a poll is ridiculous. :lol
