There is no scale information or comparison pics on the pre-order page of Hobgoblin comiquette.

If anyone has a response from sideshow regarding this please feel free to chime in.

What scale is he Sideshow? Is he the same scale as Spidey PF or comiquette since he's a Spiderman villain.

Could you give us more detailed info on scale and some comparison pics with both a NRD and cancellation fee in place please?

Thanks a ton.

I have passed along your request, but the office is closed for the weekend, so there's no way for me to get exact info like that at the moment. I haven't personally seen the piece in front of me, however, since he's a Spidey villain and a Comiquette, I'm pretty sure it's a safe assumption that he's about 1/5th and would go well with the Spidey/Venom comiquettes.

Thanks Dusty,

But Spiderman and Venom comiquettes are 1/4 scale.

Would be nice to know since it's already up for pre-order.

Cheers.

Well, whatever scale they all are, Hobgoblin will go well in a Spidey fan's collection since he's a Spidey villain :)

(and you can count me among those that don't really care that much about scale ;) I've got all my PF's and variously sized comiquettes squared off together! Definitely care more about the 'cool factor' than the size!)

That's cool Dusty but for those of us that do like having stuff displayed next to each other of the same scale, would you mind finding out for us since he's already up for PO so we can make an informed decision?

I realise it's a hassle but I can't put money down with both a NRD and a cancellation policy (why does this piece have both) in place without knowing the actualy scale of the piece.

Thanks again.

On a related note Dusty, it might be useful to have scale listed with statues generally, because some of us (self included) want statues to be uniform in size. Given the new non-refundable deposit requirement for some items, this would help me personally to decide if I wanted to pre-order those items or not.

:exactly::exactly: great posting and thread, while i've already put down my NRD :gah: i doubt that is not in the same scale as the previously released spidey villians.

though it would be nice to have some side by side shots of already release pieces so everyone could get a better feel for the overall size of a statue before ordering. while the apple is great, many things still seem to affect the side by side photoshopping that some on the boards have so graciously done for us, such as angles and position of the apple in referance to the base etc.

Yeah, clearly some statues are meant to be in scale with others. So even if Sideshow doesn't want to post precise scale ratios, maybe they could post a list of previously released statues that new releases are roughly in scale with.

:exactly::goodpost:

Some size comparisons would really help and any scale info on subsequent releases. It was good with Hulkbuster where they showed it with Hulk PF in the gallery

yeah that was an excellant comparison to an already released piece, that way everyone can figure how the piece will look along side companion pieces. especially since ssc is asking us to ante up money for these pieces, they can put a bit more effort into satisfying our inquiries

Size matters to a lot of people excluding Master Yoda! I just wish Sideshow would confirm if items are 1/6,1/5,1/4, etc considering we have to put a down deposit on exclusives... only fair in my opinion.

Perfect post.

Dusty, I know there are some people that scale is not an issue to, but it seems like the majority of collectors want uniformity in size. I know that when I put my Rogue comiquette (1/5) next to my Gambit PF, they looked very, very silly. Scale inconsistency is the #1 reason I don't buy more comiquettes.

If you guys are going to go 1/5th, go 1/5th for an entire line. If y ou are going to go 1/4th, go 1/4th for the entire line. Especially when you are talking about themes like Spiderman & SM villains. Just my two cents.

i was going to post a response by someone that had talked to a ssc customer service rep and that they stated to use the apple for referance. it was quite comical, but amazingly that posting and my response seem to have disappeared:dunno

The apple comparison is a poor excuse for determining scale size. Too much variability.

I don't understand why SS can't just publish the scale factor. They have to have this info during the creation of the piece so why not publish it when the piece goes into production? This info would be especially helpful for all comiquettes and maquettes where pieces can be either 1/4 scale or 1/5 scale or somewhere in between.

Right now I am on the fence for buying Hobgoblin because from the pictures that have been posted he doesn't look to be in scale with Spidey, Venom and Carnage. Now if he is indeed 1/4 scale, I'm pretty sure I will buy it. If he is 1/5 scale (which is what he looks to be) then I will not be buying it. Until I hear more definitive info regarding scale for this piece, it is going to be a pass for me.

I've been noticing some disappearing threads as well.

Any news on the scale of Hobgob Dusty?
Time to answer your critics, Sideshow. Your silence only further incriminates you.

Let's be reasonable they cannot be on here 24/7. Dusty is not in the arts department so cut her some slack. She has said she will find out so give her some time. Not like this is shipping anytime soon.
