Stumbled upon this and it got me thinking...

Since Iron Man (2008), Marvel has been planning and executing The Avengers and their own cinematic universe of characters.

It's garnered alot of money and alot of interest from Marvel Comic and animation fans and perhaps more importantly captuered the interest of non fans of the characters.

So what's next? I don't see them abandoning the format of releasing solo films tieing into a team film, and with such a rich catalogue of heroes & villains to choose from what would you like to see?

Me... I'd like a Nova, Silver Surfer, Guardian's of the Galaxy, Shiar, Kree, basically Cosmic stories put onto the big screen.

Aside from Green Lantern and Superman i can't think of any films that have people flying un-aided in space or shooting cosmic powers from their hands.

I really like the idea of a Guardians of the Galaxy movie. I've really enjoyed all the titles that came out starting with the Annihilation storyline, especially GOTG and Nova. I think a GOTG movie could be a lot of fun but Marvel Studios would have to pick the characters and match them with the right actors and make it look fun. The project would have the baggage of fan expectations other projects normally have.
A bummer is that a chunk of Marvel's cosmic universe is tied up at Fox with the Fantastic Four license. They have the rights to the Silver Surfer and Galactus and my guess is Annihilus and anything to do with the Negative Zone.

My guess is Ant-Man could still happen but I don't think it needs to be a summer tentpole film. Dr. Strange is probably happening as well.
I'm really hoping an Avengers sequel involves Kang or Ultron.

Now that Punisher's back at Marvel Studios, I'd like to see a decent movie for a change. Jane's Punisher and Warzone weren't bad, but there were things that killed them, like Travolta's overacting and the skull fire at the end and the whole recruitment scene (Bush slam) in Warzone. Be nice to see Punisher given the same respect Blade got.

:goodpost::exactly::lecture

Didn't even know Frank is back with Marvel Studios.

Doctor Strange. A dark movie about the occult, what's not to like?

Yup. They have him slated for another movie in 2014 (hopefully they'll ____can the TV idea for Castle). The Wolverine should begin shooting in a month or so. Be nice to see Jackman in more than just a funny cameo. :lol

I don't have much interest in Inhumans or Guardians of the Galaxy, but if they turn out to be good movies then great. Not sure who Marvel Studios does and doesn't have the rights to, but Daredevil is a great character that deserves a better film. I liked Warzone, but would love to see Punisher again in some role (preferably in a film with other Marvel heroes and villains instead of another solo film). Captain Britain could be a cool, trippy movie what with Merlin and alternate realities and weirdo villains. Thunderbolts could be great, as could the Defenders (with say, Hulk, Dr. Strange, Namor, and a wacky super-powered guy like Drax the Destroyer or even Beta Ray Bill in the place of Silver Surfer), since both are such unconventional teams.

Just too bad that Spidey, X-Men, and the Fantastic Four are off limits. It isn't really a "Marvel universe" without those guys.

I agree, but Punishers time was the 80's and The Exterminator is the best Punisher movie.

Punisher Max with an aged Frank would be great, they could have Jackson's Nick Fury sending him on a black ops mission like in "Mother Russa" i think it was called.

Would be cool if they had Fury and Castle as Vietnam Vets who served together.

...

But do you think Marvel will setup another series of films and characters that lead into a team film?

Just like Lundgren's flick, no skull on the chest, no Punisher. :lecture:lecture:lecture:exactly:

Nah, Punisher doesn't really fit with any of the other superheros. The guest appearances in his titles have always seemed forced and would look campy on screen.

As for other teams, with the exception of X-men and FF (which I liked), I don't really see any other team-up flicks working. A long shot would be getting Cage and Snipes to do a Midnight Sons horror kinda thing or maaaaaybe X-Force. But there really aren't any other marquee team books than X-Men, Avengers and FF. :huh

Not exactly marquee but I'm willing to be bet it'll find an audience. Plus it'll reel in the folks who don't buy into the whole super-hero thing.
No tights or capes just action.

We already saw them in The First Avenger. I don't think they'd be able to pull their own movie, especially without Cap. That said, I'd see it. :lol

For sure want to see another crack at Daredevil and Punisher, would love to see Doctor Strange movie, Ghost Rider w/ Blade and Morbius for sure would be cool. Would also like to see either a Nomad or Winter Soldier movie and Cable would be cool but in an X-force movie. Also thought Kurt Russell would have made a better Nick Fury.
