Avengers will be one and done after it gets beotch slapped by The Dark Knight Rises.

Not quite. :nono. Marvel is not DC's b!+(h in any way, shape, form, or fashion. 6 Superheroes are better than 1. I'd say the same if it were one Marvel superhero, and Batman with the Justice League. More can = better.

All those extra heroes sure turned Iron Man 2 into gargabe. :lol

Thats John Fav's fault. Look at X Men 1 and 2. :lecture

I find it funny that I actually want to see TDKR more, but I'm defending Avengers because they can easily top TDKR action wise. Story wise? TDKR might take that. Don't leave Spiderman out there either. You know who the throne belonged to before The Joker/Two Face showed up. :lecture

Emo Spider-Man will spend his time crying in the corner after failing to garner the Twilight market he's aimed at and being rejected overall by Marvel fans for being aimed at the Twilight market. :lol

Once again this will be the year of the Bat....man.

Sure i'll be there at the midnight show for Iron Man 3: Avengers and for SpiderDepressedMan, but Bats will (and already is) be the talk of the town.

Nah, Punisher doesn't really fit with any of the other superheros. The guest appearances in his titles have always seemed forced and would look campy on screen.
I don't agree. His relationship with Daredevil is long-standing and never felt forced (at least, in the older comics I read, I don't know what Marvel is doing nowadays). The fact that the Punisher is so different from other heroes yet has a code and tries to accomplish good (as he defines it) actually makes the idea of a cross-over film very compelling to me. Punisher is like the Batman in some ways, in that he sees other heroes as being naive and often just getting in his way. But we enjoy Batman stories of that type, don't we? The Punisher/Daredevil relationship is particularly interesting because the two are so similar (neither thinks the criminal justice system is sufficient to handle crime) but Daredevil doesn't resort to slaughtering his enemies wholesale. That might be why they've had so many run-ins over the years in comics--both confront a part of themselves and have had to face some of the hard truths about what they are and what they aren't/what they can accomplish and what they can't when they meet up.

Beyond that, we've seen Punisher in solo movies 3 times already. I would much rather see Marvel tackle another character they haven't done yet in films for a solo movie before going to that well again.

I think they'll have their hands full with
Thor 2
Iron Man 3
Cap 2
Hulk 2
Hawkeye 1
Avengers 2
Thor 3
Iron Man 4
Cap 3
Hulk 3
Hawkeye 2
Avengers 3

I have always wanted to see a really good Dr. Strange movie. And as I googled him for this post, I see that he has a movie coming out next year. I am good with that and I hope it does his character the justice that the Marvel movies have done to Thor, Captain America and Iron Man.

I was thinking that a Defenders movie might be cool. But building up to that with movies for Silver Surfer and The Sub-Mariner along with a possible (but unnecessary) new Hulk movie to tie those team members together might prove to be too tricky.

I would watch them, though.

As much as I thought the Dare Devil movie was great, I don't see them hitting that territory again.

It's all about the Benjamins. Punisher will pull in more $$$ than the obscure heroes. :huh

So does Fox not hold the Silver Surfer movie rights anymore?

Asnear as I can tell, Fox still has them along with the Fantastic 4 and is planning a re-boot of FF and has currently shelved any attempt at a SS movie due to the lack of popularity for the charcter in the FF:ROTSS movie.

But that info is like 2 years old and I can not find anything more recent.

My guess is that they work on the obvious, avengers 2, IM3, Thor 2, Maybe a Cap 2. (Marvel's "A" movies). While producing other new ones, like The Punisher maybe Daredevil etc. (Marvel's "B" movies)

I thought this was "What's next for Marvel Studios?" not "What's next for Marvel movies?"

While Marvel Studios has the rights to Punisher AND Blade back again, the rights to Silver Surfer, Fantastic Four, Daredevil are all at their respective studios.

Daredevil is currently in preproduction with Director David Slade helming and writing.

Fantastic Four is in reboot mode looking for a director and apparently there is rumor that since J. Michael Straczynski wrote a solo Silver Surfer movie (to have been done after FF2) and since he helped Thor on screen that Fox is considering having him and other screenwriters fix that script and have both the FF and Silver Surfer movies film and then eventually have them come together in a future FF flick.

As for Marvel Studios even though The Runaways flick was canned, it is said to be possibly retooled for TV and they've got Namor, Dr. Strange, Black Panther, Black Widow, and new Hulk film (starring Ruffalo) all in various stages of preproduction.

If you were given a chance to direct a high budget Superhero movie, what would be your 1st choice?

Bats
Soups
WW
JLA
Avengers
X-Men
FF
Hulk
Spidey
Punisher
Dr. Strange
and so on and so forth.

What...who...what story line?

I've had trouble imagining what a Dr. Strange movie could be like, but I guess if they could pull off Thor, they could do so with Dr. Strange. I always had trouble getting into Dr. Strange because I felt a lack of suspense. I felt like at the last minute he'd pull some spell out of his bum and save the day. I'd be willing to give it a try though.

With the rumors about the Avengers, I can see a move toward more cosmic stuff may be in the works. A Guardians of the Galaxy movie would be cool they just have to figure out a way to sell it to people. I know there were rumors about the Inhumans, but I wonder if that infringes on Fox territory. The Inhumans seem to have more to do with the FF.

I always felt that even when the Avengers comics didn't sell great, Marvel kept it around to try out new characters and launch them into their own titles or to give a tired character a place to go in hopes Avengers membership would regenerate interest in them. The Avengers was the big leagues and the farm team all in one. I wonder if Marvel Studios will use the franchise like that. I'm also wondering if Marvel Studios TV efforts would cross pollinate. An example would be a character like Moon Knight, may not warrant a feature film but it could be a good TV show and if popular enough he could appear in an Avengers movie. I know there is a Mockingbird TV series in the works, if its decent maybe she'd appear in an Avengers movie.
There a ton of possibilities.
