How can you have dedicated threads for people like Kato when he has 10 different people do the pimping of his stuff for him?

Seperate issue, and I guess I'm alone on this, but it would be nice to see people actually handle their own business (and more discretely) to limit the chances of shenanigans.

I've been around this forum for a long time, and I generally don't say much, but there has been a distinct change in attitude here. The custom section was inspiring and refreshing. Not everyone was kind, but there was always constructive criticism to go along with some good natured kidding. These days people dont come here to look at customs anymore they look to buy or sell. The attitudes have changed too. There is disdain for customs that don't measure up, and indignant remarks from some of the new talent if they get criticized. While I appreciate the influx of talent and the opportunities they provide along with that has come elitism, snobbery and what was once a place where people could post their work and enjoy seeing what others have done, has turned into something very different.
I think there should be a customs section and if a commission thread grows from that post, let them go in subsections.
I used to frequent the customs section more than any other part of the forum, and I am betting that there are many members like myself that now avoid it. The Star Wars section and the Whedonville section are the last remnants of the old mindset.

That's just the new vibe of this board, people aren't interested in customs, they're interested in stuff they can buy. I'm not saying that's good or bad, it's just the way it is. Places like OSW are more about the hobby of 1/6 than the hobby of collecting.

I agree. I started out at OSW but wanted to see what else was out there. OSW is one of the websites dedicated to customizing. This forum, "Sideshow Freaks", is mainly about Sideshow Collectables with some customizers peppered in there, and it's nice to have this customs section. Being a customizer myself, this and the SW customs are the only places I visit on this site.

The reason why I joined SSF was that Elvis stopped posting his figures on OSW. I'm a kitbasher, I love doing it. I'm not the best at it but I do turn out some pieces that I'm proud of. I just wish I had more time so I could improve my skills.

I agree! that was bad ass and such a beautiful photo too. I had missed that thread before, so I'm also thankful for the link.
