Which Company has the Poorest Quality Control

I've read plenty more issues with GG than SS from other boards I post on including GGC. So as someone said it will vary from collector 2 collector.

I have bought tons of GG busts and have never had a problem.

i've never had to return anything to SS(besides something broken in transit) out of about 35 pieces. i guess we all have different experiences.
Items broken in transit can be just as much a QC issue as anything else. It speaks to the quality of the packing materials used. How many Ghost Rider pieces were "broken in transit"?

That's good for you. I've not had an issue with what I've bought either but I've read several over the years. Just as we're reading people talking about issues with SS. My point is no company is perfect in regards to QC issues.

I am not saying that either, but I still feel it is a fair poll given the amount of stuff all these companies are releasing.

That's true, but I didn't see anything in the poll that claimed otherwise. They are all imperfect, but there are degrees of QC imperfection. The question is whether there is a perception that Sideshow is "furthest from perfect" in their customers' eyes. Do you really think they would not want to know this?

I can't really vote in this because I only collect sideshow out of the given companies. Furthermore, the only item I ever returned to sideshow due to damage was the X-men vs. Sentinel dio exclusive. I guess I am one of the more lucky ones around here!:monkey3

Exactly my point! Like I said, cheering on the overall company which is "sideshow" rather than the individual problems of their products will only end up hurting everyone in the long run. IMO any smart company would WANT to hear whats bad or whats wrong, or whats not working with their products. I dont see it as a negative thing as long as the criticism is kept constructive. But some seem to take it personally, when in reality it should be used to better themselves. Like in anything you can get better if you dont learn from your mistakes.

Galactus at StatueForum has a good point:

I don't have too many Sideshow pieces, so I only know about their breakage issues from the boards. I didn't realize there were so many "fixes" done at the factory.

I think they just try to make their pieces too intricate and detailed (as well as too large). I know this is a good thing when the piece comes out nicely, but it is also the reason for so many problems.

I want 2 make this as clear as I can. I dont have a problem with the poll, people feeling this way, etc. I want SS to be as great as they can. I don't agree with some of the issues but that's just me. As I said in the end if this makes SS better then I'm all for it.

Why do you hate this poll so much Josh?:confused::confused:

Did I say they didn't? :confused::rolleyes:
Not directly, no. But I got the impression that you were trying to discourage the poll, questioning its (lack of) bias. If I misinterpreted your intent, I'm sorry.

My point is that, even if the perception isn't objective, it still colors peoples' opinions of the company. I know that I now open every single Sideshow package with an unhealthy amount of trepidation, considering the number of returns I've had to deal with over the past five years.

No, not at all. If I was I would come out and say the poll is freaking worthless or not worth the time. I don't beat around the bush in my comments. You guys that have been around here long enough should know that. I don't buy Statue Forum as being unbiased but if SS gets better because of the overall info then fine by me.

Well, despite the fact that some want to believe my eyes are colored rose they're not. Never have been. Never will be. I personally have had virtually no issues from SS in the 4 years I've been collecting. So when I open a product from them I don't have that fear.

I only collect from SSC as well.

Ive collected all the LOTR and SW 12" and only needed to return 2.

WRT PF or comiquettes, I have 7 - and 2 of 7 came damaged / with paint issues.

Did I care? No, because of the 30 day satisfaction guarentee.

NOW - wrt the actual product looking like the prototype (i.e. Ani's lips) I think that's a major problem and I would give my right arm for SSC to fix it.

You probably would have gotten more votes, and more honest ones, if the poll wasn't public...

That is sad, but probably very true.

Personally I dont know what is so bad about being honest and giving sideshow valuable feedback that they 'may want' to step up their factory QC.
