Factory paints, there isn't much they can do. That is the painters to be blamed overseas.

How can you blame the painters when Sideshow is the one who commissioned them? There is a lot they can do, stop commissioning production companies who do a poor job.

I sure wish that they would put the foam corners around all the PFs that ship out.

:lecture
They use to, I was boxing up Luke SDCC Luke for a lil while and was like hey they have foam corners. I think its has to do with the fact that those lil foam corners add about 2" to each side and thus increases the Volume and the shipping cost to us.

Yeah some do and some don't, it really is quite arbitrary. I would gladly pay the little extra so that just about everything polystone had that little extra protection.

Oh, and I HATE the foam that they sometimes use on the 1:1 and LS busts, you know the kind that just is so brittle it gets everywhere!!!! And speaking of the PF Luke, wasn't that original foam used on both Luke and Han nice, for me it really made the PF a truly premium item.

??? This is a company SS hired to produce their statues and busts. As long as the Sideshow name goes on each and every piece produced it is their responsibility!

If SS can't ensure these guys will properly inspect each and every piece prior to packing them up, or ensure that factory seconds won't be plucked out of the garbage to be sold on Ebay then they should either:

a]. send some of their own personnel to China to ensure these things are being done or ....
b]. find another company to produce their item's

Sideshow. I've gotten plenty of stuff from GG and others with no problem. With SS, I have to exchange probably 30% of the time, if not more.

For once I agree with The Josh. And if they were made in America they would suck even worse just like our automobiles.

I don't think they would suck worse, but there would definitely be less produced at a higher cost.....People just don't appreciate 20 hour/no overtime shifts like they used to.:lol

Exactly, couldn't believe that the Darkness Bust didn't have them....box was crunched everywhere.

Half the time the foam corners get crushed anyway. You should have seen the shape my Doom box was in that had the foam corners.

SS would charge an extra $100 only as long as people are willing to pay it. Hard to argue with your point about N. American cars though. I haven't exactly owned 200 N.American cars, but I think it's safe to say the QC on the ones I have owned has been fair at best.

Maybe instead of having overseas production they should just have it done in Mexico. It would help the Mexican economy and help the immigration problem and Dannie could get a job back home. :D

When you hire a Chinese factory to manufacture an item you have to examine all the variables and choose the one that can deliver on as many things as possible. It's not like they can hire one factory to do the molding, another the painting and another the packaging. And there are a small number of factories doing these types of things. And until a few years ago all they were making were kids toys, the "collectible" attitude hasn't really permeated through there yet and they don't realize how important QC is. When a collectibles company isn't happy with the factory the collectibles company can not use them again and that has happened.
