Which Iron Man to buy???

I am a big fan of the Mark VII, especially when you attach the Battle Damaged pieces to it. I also snagged the Headplay open mask face, and it looks epic.

The only iron mans I have are:

-Mark I 2.0
-Mark VII
Mark III Diecast (On Preorder)

My favorite of all is the Mark I just because those scenes were just epic.

I started collecting the 1/6 Armors when Hot Toys started making them in die cast. However, I figured I could buy a couple of the non die cast figures to augment my collection.

Once I had a few I realized that even the plastic figures were worth the cost so I decided to buy a few more and now I am committed to buying all of the House Party Protocol armors that are not straight up re-paints, with the exception of Hot Rod, I'll get him because he is one of my favorites.


I also think that Hot Toys will release the original 7 marks in die cast and if they do I will buy those and retire my 1/12 scale Hall of Armor display.

My advice would be that if you have any plans on collecting figures/statues from other franchises that you run, run, run as fast as you can away from HT IM line.

There's just too many to choose from and many of them are awesome in their own right, so picking just one to represent IM in your collection is almost impossible. HT clearly has no plans to slow down releasing IM products, so your collection will be completely dominated by IM if you're all in for the line. If you're lucky to enough to be able to pick just one favorite, then sell off the rest of them and never open an IM thread again.

I think the regular Mark VII is the best looking thus far... but you need the newly-tooled helmet
from the Accessory Pack to complete it. The "Bug Eyed" helmet it comes with just does not cut it.

It has a bulkier feel to it, and actually looks like tony would be inside there.
Some of these other marks look too anorexic in the stomach / waist area, IMO.

The Silver Centurion and Mark VLII are also nice and bulky. Those would be my top picks out of what it currently produced.

My main and favorite line is Middle Earth (Lord of the Rings & The Hobbit) but I fell in love with Marvel a long time ago. Of course that's before they went whole hog in Iron Man 3.

IF I do sell, I would probably keep about a half a dozen.

One of the problems I'm looking at is space. Display and box storage. What I want to do and what can really happen at this time is another thing all together.

I can only recommend the ones i liked enough to purchase

1. Mark 3 Diecast ex- an Iconic suit from the best Iron Man movie

2. Avengers Mark VI Promo- Triangle Shaped Arc used in both the Avengers & IM2. Highly limited production run and worth a lot but the overall package value isn't as good as the Avengers Mark VII promo. I just didn't want two IM figures from the same movie.

3. Python- A beastly looking unique figure that IMO is comprised of the best looking parts from each of the respective suits its derived from (centurion helm/face, Mark VII Torso/Chest and Heartbreaker Legs). The color scheme is fantastic, the gold & black really pops. Very excited to get this one even if it doesn't come with a lot of accessories.

Mk IV is the one I have. Proportions are decent, and it's the proper colours.

I have Silver Centurion on the way and I love the bulkier proportions. If the diecast Mark III ends up looking like Stark can fit in it I'll pick it up too.

What I'm really hoping for is a Stealth Armor like from the old comics...



Hopefully some version of this will appear in a movie soon so HT can make one.
